Our annual group trip out of Macrae's was today and I had Terry and David on board. Captains Don Chancey and William Toney were on the trip as well and we all had our orders for catching enough fish for tomorrow nights fish fry. I started trying to make a run offshore, but the seas were not favorable to doing so. A steady west wind around 10 to 15 knots just made it to tough to head for the deeper spotty bottom areas that have been so productive. Instead, we stayed shallow and had a pretty good morning using DOA deadly combos in the holographic watermelon and root beer colors. David and Terry boated 6 keeper trout, a Spanish mackerel and released several shorts for our morning charter. All the boats averaged about the same catch and there was plenty of fish for the upcoming dinner. Thanks to whole group for the great time and look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan
