Homosassa Reds after the Storm. June. 16th 2011 Featured

P6160573Riding the storm out at Macrae's, well that's how I began the day. My clients today were at their home down the Homosassa river near the Hell's Gate area and with heavy T-storms in the morning, we got a little bit of a late start. The storm passed and with a quick run down river, Shawn and Paul were on board around 10am to find some trout and red fish. We caught several trout in the 4ft depth range using DOA deadly combos, but the guys were anxious to find some red fish. The conditions were perfect and the red fish bite was on. We totaled 13 reds, some were under the slot, some were in the slot, and one big dog almost 30". Free lined live shrimp was the bait of choice. Thank you both for a fun time and here is Paul with his big red of the day - Congratulations... Capt. Dan
