Holiday Trout. July 3rd 2011 Featured

Written by

P7030605Today was day two for the holiday weekend and I was ready to run back offshore and put my clients on some deep water trout. Rich, Vanessa, Jeff and John met me at Pete's Pier at 9am and we were off to the deep spotty bottom grass patches. In no time, Vanessa hooked up on a keeper trout and the rest of theĀ gang quickly followed. The group only wanted to keep a few for a meal, so we kept a couple and released several others. Today I fished one the deepest locations that I target trout on and at one point we were in 17ft of water. It takes some time to get out there, but the fish are there and in very good numbers. Today's top producing color was once again the DOA holographic root beer shrimp on a 1/8oz jig head. Thanks everyone for the fun day and look forward to seeing you all again soon... Capt. Dan
