Today's mission was to keep my new young friend Dakota hooked up on some fish. I met Gary, Rob and Dakota at Pete's Pier and with breezy conditions, we stayed close to shore and caught a mixed variety. Grouper, snapper, mackerel, sea bass, and grunts made for some fun action on the shallow ledges. We had a couple keeper snapper, sea bass and Dakota had a count of 24 fish for his day of fishing. We made a couple drifts for some trout and picked up three keepers and a couple shorts to finish out our 1/2 day Crystal River charter. The big news for the day, was when we had close to a 12ft tiger shark next to the boat for several minutes. This was by far the largest shark I've encounter here in my life time of fishing here off Citrus County. Thanks guys for the fun day and here is Dakota and his dad Rob with a double header grouper catch... Capt. Dan
