Crystal River Rocks. July. 15th 2011 Featured

P7150629With yesterdays success, I continued fishing the rock piles and ledges and had another awesome day. The stiff west breeze we have had for the last two days calmed and made our offshore run easy. Jason and Deanna met me at Pete's Pier this morning and with a hundred and fifty shrimp, we were offshore to the rocks. Just using live shrimp on a 1/8oz jig head we caught snapper, grouper, flounder, grunts, mackerel, sea bass, sharks, and even a look down. There was no shortage of gag grouper and we released well over twenty on just two different structures. We had plenty of fish for a couple meals, so we ran in, made a quick stop at Sandy Hook to cool off and called it a day. Thank you both for an outstanding day, hope to see you soon, and enjoy your catch being prepared at Pecks in Ozello... Capt. Dan
