John and Samantha joined me for a 1/2 day Crystal River charter and we did a little inshore and offshore fishing. We left from Pete's Pier marina this morning and started the day working the inshore islands. Using my favorite plug, the Yo-Zuri mag darter, we caught a couple snook, trout and jack crevelles for the first hour of fishing. Having a great start to the day and calm seas, we ran out to 20ft of water and tried some offshore deeper structures. Once we anchored up, four cobia greeted us, and immediately had instant hook ups. Landing two cobia in short order, a couple mackerel, numerous grunts and breaking off a large Goliath grouper; we had an outstanding day. Thank you both for a fun morning and hope to see you soon...
