Crystal River Grouper & Cobia...

Written by
It was a great feeling to anchor up once again, send down some live pin fish and watch the rods double over. Today was my first of many upcoming charters for the gag grouper season and Bill and Sheena started it off with a bang. I picked the couple up from their home on the river and started the day filling the live well with an assortment of frisky baits. Our next stop, was anchoring up on some shallow ledges and the grouper were on location waiting. We caught several gags and lost a few heavy weights that we just couldn't turn around in time; and they broke off. Bill had a good fish on and to our surprise a beautiful keeper cobia was on board as an added bonus. The offshore bite was the best today and our couple of stops inshore produced only a few fish with the extreme high flood tide. I thank you both very much for the fun day and always look forward to our future charters... Capt. Dan
