Overcast Crystal River Grouper...

Written by
Rain and wind was the forecast the last two days and unfortunately, I had to cancel some charters. However, today was a different day and slick calm seas made for an easy ride offshore. John and Kaitlynn were on board for the day and with the cooling water temperatures, it was time to give trolling up some grouper a try. We reached our destination just over 20ft of water, sent down some plugs and it was fish on. We totaled nine beautiful gags to 14lbs and used a combination of fire tiger, bunker and chartreuse and silver rapala x-raps for today's trip. The floating grass is still a little bit of a headache to get a clean drag, but it's worth the aggravation. Congratulations to you both for an outstanding day and look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan
