A change from the inshore grind and even though gag grouper season is closed until July, we did a little grouper inventory. Mishel and Earl joined me today out of Pete's Pier Marina for a full day of trolling up some gags. We trolled the shallow ledges and caught some beautiful gag grouper. Using rapala x-rap 20's in the fire tiger and blue mackerel colors were the hot ticket. We easily would of had our limit of gags and then some and it's great to see the stocks in such good shape "as they have always been". We did catch a unique fish toady called a yellow file fish and it was really a neat looking catch. It was a picture perfect day and i can't thank you enough for the great time. Here's Earl with the big fish of the day and as always, my other pictures can been seen on my Crystal River Fishing face book page... Capt. Dan
