Inside Grouper...
We did a bit of everything to catch the gags today with the Coleman team. Clell and Lee were on board for their monthly visit and we did well. The guys and I caught them from trolling, bottom fishing and casting plugs. All the methods produced about equally and as always a fun time with you both... Capt. Dan
Whopper Gags...
Probably the roughest day on the water that I've ever stuck it out, but it was worth it. Bob was on board solo with me for the day and we had our seat belts on for sure. We would take a wave or two over the bow every once in a while, however the big gags were on the feed. We trolled up a fine limit of grouper and two fish just under twenty pounds each, were quite impressive. Great catch my friend and what a week you had... Capt. Dan
Trout and Gags...
Another bumpy one out there for us today, especially for the morning hours; but it eventually calmed down. Steve and Doug were my guests today and as the wind gust out of the NE, we stayed inside and jigged up some nice trout. I loaded the guys with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and the trout bite was quite good. We kept just a couple, released the others and added a couple grouper to finish out the day. A big swing in the weather today and I thank you both for hanging in there... Capt. Dan
Trolling Gags...
A fun time today trolling plugs with Larry and Spurgin on board. The team and I dealt with some choppy conditions and we trolled up quite a few grouper. We used a combination of F14 and F18 Rapalas and had a double digit fish day. Most of the gags today were just on the short side, but a couple made their way home for a dinner or two. A great day with you both and I thank you... Capt. Dan
Gags and Bonus Red...
The seas calmed down for us today to make it happen and with Bob and Nancy in town from Pennsylvania; the team caught some nice gags and an offshore surprise. We actually started the day inshore jerk baiting some trout and picked up a couple, as we waited for the wind to calm down a bit. Around 11am, I made the run offshore and we were able to catch some nice gags; but it was still a bit on the rough side. Four nice fish came on board, plus a huge offshore red fish which was a welcomed surprise. The team had a great day and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan
Cool Front Gags...
Pretty bumpy out there today and it wasn't easy. Pat and Alyse were my guests and we hit the real shallow stuff for today's grouper. I couldn't make it to far offshore due to the conditions, but we trolled up a nice keeper and bottom fished up a few others. I'll be off until Monday with the upcoming choppy conditions and I'll see you all soon in a couple days... Capt. Dan
Flat Calm Offshore...
Not a ripple on the big pond today and it was like a sheet of glass offshore. Joe and Joanne were with me for the day and this was the calm before the front. We have another cool front coming through tomorrow and the winds are going to pick up a bit. I took the team to the 30ft range and we had an awesome Crystal River charter. They each turned a fine pair of gags; then we sent down some shrimp and caught 7 hog fish for the day. The day to be offshore and great catch to the both of you... Capt. Dan
One Stop Gags..
One stop today and we got them. Tony and Steve were my guests today and grouper once again was on the menu. We dropped down on some scattered low profile rocks with live pin fish and did very well. We caught close to 20 grouper on one spot, while also filling out our limit. The team did really good turning the fish and we also added a couple trout before he headed home. A fun day guys and I look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan
Good Gags...
A great day in grouper land with Al and Bear and these guys did awesome. We did a combination of bait fishing and trolling for the fish today. Live palm sized pin fish got the grouper going and the size average was once again very good. When we trolled, the dorado was the flavor of the day and I thank you both for a really fun trip... Capt. Dan
Fine Grouper...
Another fine day in grouper land and Sarah and Randy were my guests today. I took the husband and wife team to about 20ft of water and the bite was quite good . We had to weed through some shorts to start the bite, but once they were out of the way - it was game on. Live pin fish got the gags again and it sure was some good action. The couple had some fine fish to show for the day and I thank you for the fun time... Capt. Dan
