Trick or Treat Grouper...

Happy Halloween everyone and the Lent party was on board today ready to do some grouper trick or treating. We did just fine and the day was beautiful. A couple stops produced right away, while some - there was nobody home. However, the team turned four beautiful grouper and I'm sure grouper was on their dinner pates soon. I thank you all and great job... Capt. Dan

Way South Gags...

A great trip to the South grouper grounds with the Keeler team. I fished in the 10ft-20ft range on some small little ledges and the grouper action was spot on. The water down south is crystal clear and is was a sight watching the other grouper follow the hooked fish up to the boat. Rex had big fish honors with a good one in the 18lb range and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

A little Slow...

When the gulf is like a sheet of glass it maybe great for a smooth boat ride, but the fishing can be a bit slow. Well, that's exactly what we experienced today, but the Worthington team was ready and we did just fine. Ron, Jeff and Sam each turned a nice keeper gag and had a little action with some shorts. For some added excitement, we had a couple jewfish eat our groupers; unfortunately we didn't get them to the surface to get a good look. A pretty day and I thank you all. Here's Jeff with the first one of the morning... Capt. Dan

Fast Gags...

Happy grouper today with John and William and "wow", they sure were fired up. I made two stops in less than 10ft of water and the team had four beauty's on ice. Just a couple shorts and mostly all keepers fell to some live pin fish. We wrapped the day up early and outstanding job fellas... Capt. Dan

1/2 Day Gags...

A good 1/2 day trip with the boys and Chase, Bob and Pat each caught some grouper. It was a little bumpy for us today and we had to be in early; so I stayed in close and worked a couple shallow spots. The first couple stops were dry, but on the 4th stop we started getting in to them. The live pinfish did their job and everyone secured a grouper sandwich. Thank you guys and great job... Capt. Dan

Grouperville....

As good as it gets today with Joe and Joanne and my, did they catch some fine gags. I ran to about 20ft of water today and on just a couple stops, we were in double digit gags. All but one of the fish we caught today were keepers and both the husband and wife team caught a pair over 15lbs. The weather forecast for the later part of the week isn't looking to great, so we'll have to sit back and see what happens. Great job today and enjoy the grouper dinners... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Gags..

It's been a while since I've fished out of Homosassa and it was great to be at the Fishing Club again. This weekend was the club jamboree and Lee and Allen were my guests. We did a little bit of everything on this trip to mix it up. We drifted the flats for trout and caught a handful on cork rigs, stopped on a point for a keeper red fish and ended the trip with a limit of gags. The guys really enjoyed the grouper fishing and both of them caught their first keeper groupers. It was great to see you all and fantastic job. Here's Jeff with the first one down... Capt. Dan

Grouper Chop!!!

A bit bumpy today and just about on the verge on being to rough for what I like to fish in. However, we call it the grouper chop and with all the extra oxygen in the water and rolling seas, it makes the grouper very happy. Shane and Lee were the team and oh my, did these guys do great. We had our grouper in short order and even released a couple others, with one being a whopper of a good one. Live baits were the ticket once again and here's Lee with a great Crystal River grouper... Way South Grouper...

I took Lee and Ed way South to some bottom I have and we were almost West of Bay port. The sea's were nice and made for a smooth 20 mile ride. The water down there was beautiful and crystal clear. We set up shop on a couple rocks in the 15ft range and in a matter of minutes, we had our four beautiful grouper on ice. After such a great catch, we took it easy and searched for some new structures. Well, I found a couple new ones and whoever is going to be on board the day I fish them, will be very pleased. I thank you both and great job.... Capt. Dan

The Barlows Groupers...

Another fine day to poke offshore a bit with the Barlow family and once again, they did terrific. I actually eased out to 30ft of water and the bite was quite good. The first two baits down were keepers, but then had to weed through some shorts on a couple stops to get the last two good ones. I'm still live bating the grouper, but hopefully soon I'll be able to drag some plugs behind the boat... Capt. Dan
