Crystal River Hot Grouper....
Pretty awesome out there today with Chris and Tony on board. I stayed in the shallow stuff and "wow" the bite was on. The water really cleared up today and made setting up so much easier. We hit a couple spots and had our limit by 10am. With a live well full of bait, we went looking and tried some other spots I haven't fished this year " and found a new one"..... The action was great and we honestly released close to a dozen keeper sized gags up to 14lbs and there out there waiting for us next time. Fantastic trip fellas and I thank you... Capt. Dan
Team Sodium....
Good grouper today with Ted and Casey on board and Casey is the owner of Sodium Fishing Gear here in Crystal River. We had a super fun day hitting the shallow water gags and they turned some really nice ones. I fished one of my honey hole ledges and Ted just about got jerked out of the boat on a whopper, but unfortunately the hook pulled on that one. Great job though guys and enjoy the fish... Capt. Dan
Down South Gags...
Another trip down South today with Ian and Michelle and the team did awesome. I stayed shallow and checked a couple other spots I haven't been to in a while and it was great. We knocked down some really nice gags on pin fish and even a surprise cobia that followed a grouper to the surface. We secured a limit, found a new good spot; and released a couple big dogs waiting for next time. I thank you both and terrific job... Capt. Dan
Waller Family...
Holy cow!!! What a great day in grouper land with the Waller family. I took the team down South to some low profile rocks I haven't been to this year and it was game on. We set up, sent down the pin fish and it was absolutely non stop action. The weather was perfect and every body took turns catch some really nice gags. I made a quick stop inshore for a snook and we landed a beauty around 35" and called it a day. I thank you all and what a day to remember... Capt. Dan
Homosassa Club Jamboree...
It's been awhile since I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club, but today I was there and it was their annual Jamboree. Myself and several other Homosassa Guide Association members fished the group and we had a ball. The money pot was for largest keeper fish back to the dock and my team and yours truly, won the bet $$$. It was really rough and windy and I knew if I could get a grouper or two, we would be in good shape. Well, my team fought through the conditions with me and secured three really nice gags casting plugs. The floating grass is horrible and getting a clean drag is next to impossible. Once in a while though, we would get a clean pass and "wham" grouper on. We had a great afternoon shore lunch and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Crystal River Grouper....
Just about perfect conditions for Robbie, Mitch and Mike on board and these young guns hammered the grouper. We pulled my bait traps and ran out to about 13ft of water. I pretty much stayed in that depth range and we had an awesome trip. On just a couple drops, the guys secured a really nice limit of gags and released a bunch of under sized ones too. A really fun day and great job team... Capt. Dan
Snook in the Back...
Too windy to go offshore for the morning hours and I had to be in early for an appointment, so for Tim and Jeanne we stayed in the back country and went snookin'. This was our first real cold front of the year and it was actually pretty chilly, but felt good. I put the trolling motor down, tied on some DOA jerk baits and we hit the creeks. The action was good and 1/2 a dozen snook a red fish and a trout came on board for our 1/2 day trip. Tim caught a beauty around 35" and she put on a great show. Great job in the windy, chilly, weather... Capt. Dan
Rain & Grouper...
It's been a while since I've seen the Coleman team and I was happy to see them on board. Grouper was on the menu and we delivered some nice ones. I had to stay relatively close to shore due to the condition's, and there was a small rain storm to the south. Well, we no sooner starting catching some nice gags and the rain started coming down. The weather changed really fast and we had a slow, wet ride in. I thank you guys as always and great job... Capt. Dan
Team Mercury....
Crystal River Grouper & Snook....
We had to work for them a bit today as the full moon tide was kicking me in the butt, but thankfully I figured them out. Mike, Chris and Kathy did a tremendous job turning the gags as I fished some North numbers as the action was pretty good. Palm sized pin fish were the deal and they secured our six fish grouper limit. We ran inshore free lined some pin fish and tackled a couple snook to top off the day. I thank you and great job to you all... Capt. Dan
