Uncle Phil, Day Four...

All I can say is What a Day!!! Today was day four with Uncle Phil and Gina and they had an awesome one. The grouper action was superb down South and they turned some really nice fish. By noon they had a limit of gags on ice and Gina even had a "tug-o-war" on a huge Jew fish. You can see the pictures on my Crystal River Fishing Facebook page. We topped off the trip with a limit of snook and I thank you so much for the last four days. They were great and I always look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

What a day for day three with Phil, Gina and myself on the grouper and snook. You either love or hate the full moon tides, but I love them for grouper and snook. Trout and red fish can be tough, so we stuck to the grouper and snook plan and did extremely well. The grouper bite was a bit tough as the tide was rolling, but we figured them out and secured a really nice catch; but I did have to move around. The snook bite was good as the tide got right, and I thank you all for a great day... Capt. Dan

Phil & I Having Fun...

A great day with just Uncle Phil and I, and we had a ball. I took him to one of my little ledges off Crystal River and he found some fine grouper. We're contending with the full moon right now so if your grouper fishing, you need to get them quick before the big incoming tide starts rolling - and we did just that. A nice catch of grouper and we targeted the full moon tide snook for the afternoon and did very well. I thank you and a great day... Capt. Dan

Uncle Phil's in Town...

Many of you have been following me for quite sometime and the second week of October, Phil comes to town. Well, today was day one and we had a blast. Grouper, red fish and trout filled out the day and he sure is fun to fish with. He brought along his family friend Chris today and they both tackled some fin gags. I went down South again and in short order we had a really nice limit. The weather improved greatly today and looks good for the weekend forecast. Phil has three more days on board, so we'll see what we can do... Cap. Dan

Fitzpatrick Mix...

A really fun day with the Fitzpatrick team and the family did awesome. It was Trace's 10th birthday and he wanted to go fishing. Well, this young man did very well catching some really nice red fish. right out of the gate this morning. We landed around fifteen or so, plus a decent snook and finished up the day with a pair of really nice gags. You all did fantastic and I thank you... Capt. Dan

Hands down as rough as it gets to still do a grouper charter today and my team of Shane, Bart and Nathan were hanging in tough, to get it done. Well, the day started by pulling bait traps and heading West to troll a bit; but unfortunately it was just to rough to get it done - so we headed inshore. The inshore action was good with a limit of red fish, some sheepshead and trout; but I was itching to get back out to some grouper spots. I stayed shallow in 6ft to 8ft of water and the guys did great turning four really nice grouper in no time. It definitely was a challenging one today, but I thank you all and great job... Capt. Dan

Way South Gags...

A tremendous day with the Clements family and this father and son team did so great. We pulled our bait traps first thing this morning and we started the day inshore red fishing and did well. The guys each caught there keeper reds and we soon headed way South to grouper land. I haven't been to my Bay port numbers yet this year, but when we arrived it was spectacular. In less than fifteen minutes we had six beautiful gag in ice and Myself and the team could only say "WOW".... A great day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Monday Mix...

A mix on the board today with the Sans team out of Crystal River and Toad, Rusty and Tony did great. I had a late take off due to some electrical issues, but got them resolved soon enough. We did a bit of red fishing and did well, while finishing up tackling a couple real nice gags. It was a bumpy one again and I'll sure be happy when the seas clam down a bit. I thank you guys for everything today... Capt. Dan

Sunday Gags...

A fun Sunday with Ralph and Chuck and I generally don't fish Sunday's , but I had some making up to do with my recent vacation time. It was blowing hard today and it was a challenging day. I stayed in real shallow and fish ed the shallow rocks of Ozello. We did well getting a fish a spot or so and soon enough, we had four in the box. The guys did great and I thank you both... Capt. Saturday Gags...

A bit of a bumpy one, but a great cacth of gags with the Lyons party. We poked around the 20ft range again and really didn't do to well. Several shorts bit the baits, but no decent sized fish at all. We eventually got in to some nice gags in the 10ft depth range and on two stops, the guys had six beauty on ice. Live pin fish were the ticket and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan
