Season Closure Snook...

What a super way to wrap up the spring snook season. The "boys" were on board today and Lauren, Dan and Big fish Bob did outstanding. We targeted the snook on the mangrove islands and every place produced. The guys had a double digit day and today was definitely a day to remember. I thank you all as always and great job.... Capt. Good Snookin'....

A really good snook day with Terry and Corey on board out of Crystal River. We had a perfect tide for doing so and the incoming tide had them fired up. We hit the outer points with DOA jerk baits and totaled eleven nice snook for the day. Both gentlemen secured a keeper at 32" and we released and took pictures of the rest. A super fun trip and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Cobia...

The second cobia trip for Joe and Joanne and we sealed the deal with another keeper. The action was better this trip, as I pulled up to a hot rock and five cobia came off the bottom to greet us. We caught three of them with one making it over the minimum 33" mark and live pin fish was our bait of choice. Also, several gag grouper kept us busy as well and most were in the keeper size and released to be seen again hopefully soon. A great time and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

Fun Trout...

A fun day with the Lent team and Jerry, Bill and Roland had a good one. It was Roland's birthday today and he celebrated it in style with some steady trout action. All the guys kept their rods bent and MirrOLure Lil' Johns did their job. The day was absolutely perfect and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan

The Coleman team was with me today and we had fun start to the week jigging for trout. The bite was a little slow for the first couple hours, but as the tide turned it quickly picked up. The hot bait today was the watermelon red flake provoker jerk bait from MirrOlure and a 1/8th oz jig head. The team secured a fine catch and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Trout & Snook....

The Fitzpatrick team was on board today and it sure was a beautiful day. I began offshore again on the trout, but it was a bit slower bite today. The tide was going one way and the wind the other and covering ground was a challenge. As the tide picked up though, so did the bite and the team secured thirteen nice trout on ice. I did make a couple stops for snook and they were in a happy mood, as we picked up a couple to end the day. A really fun day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Good Trout Drifting...

A big change in the weather from yesterday and we were able to get offshore to the trout grounds. Dan, Joe and Lauren were my guys and they had some superb trout action. We fished in about 8ft of water and kept it simple making a series of drifts with plenty of trout action. A combination of glow and watermelon red flake Lil' Johns were our colors for the day and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Big Red, Cold Front...

A late season cold front for us today and oh my, was it ever chilly and windy. John and Nelson were the team today and it was definitely a challenge out there. The water was mud to the North of Crystal River, so we headed South for the day. We scrapped out five trout and a couple red fish for our efforts, but across the board with myself and the other guides - it was a tough one. Weather should improve a bit over the next couple days and Friday, we get another big front. Great job today though guys and a whopper of a redfish Mr. John... Capt. Dan

Trout Jigging...

A fun team today and we went back to the trout plan and Chris, Scott and Chris did very well. I took the guys to some good spotty bottom in 8ft of water and basically just made a series of drifts for some nice trout. MirrOlure Lil' Johns were the baits for us and the watermelon red/flak was the top producer once again. There's an abundance of under sized tout out there right now, so take a little extra care when releasing them as they are our upcoming stock. I'll see you all next week... Capt. Dan

Cobia on the Board...

Well folks we found the first cobia of the season today and Joe and Joanne were all smiles when we hooked up. I did quite a bit of driving today and hit lots of spots hoping to find them; but it was a 4th quarter kind of day and we found one just in time. The grouper action though was excellent and we released some fine gags up to 15lbs on live pin fish. I did some looking for tripletail also, but they were scarce and only saw one small fish. Great job team and I thank you both as always for the fun time... Capt. Dan
