Update....
Hi everyone, I just wanted to check in and let you all know; I'll be off the water for a little while as I have to do some more medical treatments. Soon as I bounce back, I'll be on the big pond. I thank you all and hopefully see you soon.....
Sunday Flounder & Gags...
Another hot one! I fished this Sunday with David and JP on board and we fished the morning out going tide. The grouper seem to like the falling water latley and sure enough, we caught some nice ones. I targeted both ledges and rock piles and both produced well and we even picked up a pair of flounder. The tide stopped around noon, we had some fine grouper and we called it a day. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan
Crystal River Surprise....
A really fun trip with Kevin, Ayindae and John and these guys are a riot. Grouper was requested, so we ran offshore a bit and fished in the 12ft to 15ft depth of water range. The guys did good getting a keeper or two on a couple stops until the tide quit. The big surprise and a first for me, was catching a red snapper in 12ft of water. It was pretty cool to see one way inside like that and who knows, there maybe more coming. I thank you all and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
Crystal River Gags...
We stayed up front today with the Millennium Metals team and did well. There was a good rain band just offshore and it produced some cloud cover, which was very much appreciated. I set up on a couple ledges with the outgoing tide and the guys turned a fine limit of grouper. Once again live baits were the deal for us and you all did a great job... Capt. Dan
South Grouper....
Good to be back out on the big pond and Chuck and Tim were my guests today. I had hopes on making today a mangrove snapper trip, but it turned in to some good grouper and a couple hogfish day. We did catch some mango's, but they were on the short side. The gags hit the pin fish on bottom rigs and we caught 5 hog fish with one making it to the keeper size. A good trip and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan
Update....
Hello everyone, I know I've been quiet lately, but I was not feeling the best and unfortunatey had to do some more cycles of chemotherapy. It really knocks you down and I basically take July off anyway to avoid the scalloping madness. August is upon us now and I'll start fishing again soon as all my medical situations go well. I thank you all for for checking on me and looking forward to bending the rod with you soon.... Capt. Dan
