Last day Snook...

Well today was my last day of the spring 2021 snook season as I have to do treatment tomorrow and the season ends Friday. Terry and Corey were my guest and a fine catch was had. Offshore trout filled out our morning and they were fired up. Lots of action with under sized fish, plus some real quality keepers. On the inside, the snook bite was superb and they kept us busy for the afternoon. I thank you both and everyone for a very successful snook season.... Capt. Dan.  I'll be back on the water next week.

Triple Limit...

We sealed the deal on the big three today for our inshore slam of trout, red fish and snook. Brian and Corey were my team and they did really well. A nice trout limit began our day and on the inside, we found our reds and snooks. The red fish were on and we caught and released about 6 nice slot fish to wrap up our slam. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan

Monday Trout & Snook...

A great start to the week with the Sans team on board. Tony, Steve and Ray did well as we stared the day jigging up some trout. Watermelon colored Lil' johns did the job on the trout and we soon enough headed back inshore for a couple snook. The snook were a little tricky today and it definitely took some work to get them going. We did though and everyone has a snook dinner. A great day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Reds...

Our last day with the West party in Homosassa and my goodness the fan was on high today! A strong and I mean strong South wind was with us and the only plus was, it brought the tide in. We boated a couple trout, but Anita and Batie did excellent on the reds. I tucked up in the creeks to seek some shelter form the wind and hit a hot pocket. The ladies brought in a fine limit of red fish and released several other good ones. We made the best of the day and I thank you all for hanging in there. Here's Batie with the first one of the day... Capt. Dan

Hot Homosassa...

A couple good days in Homosassa with the West party and for breezy conditions we did well. Thursday and Friday both consisted of some tough fishing, but my teams did great. We did well on trout and each trip produced a keeper snook. A fine shore lunch was included by myself and fellow guides Mark Zorn, Rick Spratt, John Hamilton and Mike Baize. We always fish as a great team and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Trout and Reds...

A post front day with Shane and Randy and we did well considering the tough conditions. Gusty NE winds didn't allow for much water to come in, but we made the best of it. Some nice trout started out trip, but Shane requested redfish on the half shell for dinner; so I changed gears and we found some nice ones. I pulled up to one point and on the East side, we boated a nice limit of upper slot reds on shrimp on a jig head. A couple try's for snook, but no takers and we called it a day. I thank you both and here's Shane with a perfect upper slot red.... Capt. Dan

Afternoon Giant...

What an afternoon trip with my good buddy JC. I had a charter scheduled, but due to the morning rains and traveling from the Tampa area it was just to much of a gamble so we cancelled. So just for fun, JC and I did a late take off and did awesome. We fished a couple areas I've been wanting to try and they paid off. Some real quality snook and a bonus giant well over 40". JC actually caught that fish and what a trophy to remember. They don't get much bigger inshore and awesome job my man.... Capt. Dan

A super fun day with Mishel and Earl and we did something a bit different. We did some trolling and checked on the grouper population for the start of our trip. Well, I assure you they are there and we caught several before we ran inshore and tackled some snook. Rapala F18 plugs did the trick on the gags. The afternoon snook action was good as well, and we released about a dozen for the afternoon hours. I thank you both and I'll see you again during grouper season... Capt. Dan

Whopper Snook....

Big snook of the season for the Short family on board and Jeanne landed a whopper. Today's trip was good as we had a nice mix of trout, snook and a red fish. The highlight though, was Jeanne doing a heck of a job turning and landing a snook of a lifetime. She kept it out of the mangroves and when we put her on the scale, it read 22lbs and over 40". A true trophy and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan

The Boys...

A little blowy on the big pond today and it made fishing a bit tough. I had the "boys,"  Lauren, Larry and Big Fish Bob on board from the Villages and they always make me proud. We had a couple keeper trout and released a bunch for the morning hours. Once again we headed inshore as the tide turned and found a snook a man and called it a day. You guys are always a blast and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
