Daniel E Clymer, 43, Crystal River, FL
Daniel Elliot Clymer, a well-known Fishing Captain and life-long resident of Citrus County, passed away at the age of 43 on January 28th, 2022 after a four-year battle with Sarcoma cancer under the care of HPH Citrus Hospice House of Lecanto, FL. He was born to Janet Knipping Clymer on January 16th, 1979 in Ocala, FL. Those left to cherish Dan’s memory are his beloved wife and high-school sweetheart of 25 years, Becky Clymer; their very loved, four-legged companion, Yukon; his mother, Janet Clymer; his brother, Jeff Clymer (Sara); his two nephews, Jeffrey Clymer Jr. and Charlie Clymer. Dan was loved and respected by so many across the country and he will be missed dearly by all who had the great privilege of meeting him. Voted Best of the Best Fishing Captain for Citrus County and Past President of Homosassa Guides Association for multiple years, Dan will be remembered by fishing and outdoors enthusiasts of Citrus County for years to come. Dan not only devoted his time, talents, and energy to help fund and support community efforts and charities, but he also gave many people the opportunity to have and to make wonderful, lifelong memories of fishing and being out on the water with him. He has been featured in several outdoor magazines along with appearing on numerous TV fishing shows to share his abundant knowledge and love for fishing. Along with his avid love of fishing, Dan also excelled in playing the guitar and was a wonderful and amazing musician. He will be remembered by his family, friends, and the community as being a gracious, kind, and loving person who never met a stranger and who made friends with everyone. Anyone who met Dan knew him as an incredibly outgoing and fun person to be around who truly helped make his community a better place. The Funeral Mass for Dan will be offered on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM, from St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Crystal River. Scattering of Dan’s ashes will take place on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 3:30 PM, at GPS coordinate: 28 55.150’ N 82 45.984’ W. Following the scattering ceremony, there will be a gathering of family and friends at 6:00 PM, on the Point, at the Plantation, 9301 W. Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
