Homosassa Woods...

Today was day three of our three day Homosassa Tarpon trip and unfortunately the weather just wasn't letting us make it happen. We tried to get to the flats, but soon as me made it out there we were taking waves over the bow. I had Tom along for this trip and I said lets get back in the woods to save the day and catch a few. Well, we did just that and him and I caught and released some nice red fish and snook on DOA jerkbaits. It saved the trip and I hope for sure we have better weather next time.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Reds...

Hello everyone, well our cobia trip turned into a redfish trip for Dennis and Nathan. I took a quick break in the tarpon action and mixed it up a bit. Unfortunately it was just to rough to go offshore to where I needed to and the gumbo slime was horrible covering our baits; which made dropping baits down offshore impossible. So, we changed gears and ran inshore and did well on the red fish. We free lined live pinfish in the mullet schools and caught a nice limit of reds and released some little guys too. There's always a plan B and it worked out for us today.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Reds....

Some red fish for Greg and Tom on today's trip and this father and son team did well. We started out trout jigging and caught several under slot fish, but no keepers for us today. The tide was coming good though and we did just fine on the inside. A couple nice snook, fought a whopper of a tiger shark for a bit and finished the day with a limit of lower slot red fish. A nice little variety for the guys and I thank you... Capt. Dan

Triple Limit...

We sealed the deal on the big three today for our inshore slam of trout, red fish and snook. Brian and Corey were my team and they did really well. A nice trout limit began our day and on the inside, we found our reds and snooks. The red fish were on and we caught and released about 6 nice slot fish to wrap up our slam. I thank you both and great job... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Reds...

Our last day with the West party in Homosassa and my goodness the fan was on high today! A strong and I mean strong South wind was with us and the only plus was, it brought the tide in. We boated a couple trout, but Anita and Batie did excellent on the reds. I tucked up in the creeks to seek some shelter form the wind and hit a hot pocket. The ladies brought in a fine limit of red fish and released several other good ones. We made the best of the day and I thank you all for hanging in there. Here's Batie with the first one of the day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Trout and Reds...

A post front day with Shane and Randy and we did well considering the tough conditions. Gusty NE winds didn't allow for much water to come in, but we made the best of it. Some nice trout started out trip, but Shane requested redfish on the half shell for dinner; so I changed gears and we found some nice ones. I pulled up to one point and on the East side, we boated a nice limit of upper slot reds on shrimp on a jig head. A couple try's for snook, but no takers and we called it a day. I thank you both and here's Shane with a perfect upper slot red.... Capt. Dan

Whopper Snook....

Big snook of the season for the Short family on board and Jeanne landed a whopper. Today's trip was good as we had a nice mix of trout, snook and a red fish. The highlight though, was Jeanne doing a heck of a job turning and landing a snook of a lifetime. She kept it out of the mangroves and when we put her on the scale, it read 22lbs and over 40". A true trophy and I thank you all for the great day... Capt. Dan

Good Monday Slam...

A great start to the week with Nelson, Bob and John on board and these guys did great. We started the day offshore jigging up some nice trout with MirrOlure Lil' johns in the bourbon color and the action was steady. We had close enough for a limit and caught the tide on the incoming to go inshore. The team did terrific on the snook and a redfish to complete the slam. A busy fish catching day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Slam....

A perfect day for Dan and Jim and the bite was on. We started the day jigging up some trout on MirrOlure Lil' Johns and had a quick limit if less than 30 min. Next up as the tide was coming in, we hit some points and did well on a really nice red fish and several snook. The tide didn't make a big tide, but good enough to get the bite going. I thank you both and great job. I'll be doing my treatment on Tuesday so I'll be back on the water in about a week... Capt. Dan

Weekend Slam...

I'm starting to really not like fishing weekends these days due to all the traffic on the water, but we fought the crowd and made it happen. I had the pleasure of having the Paff team on board and we did well. The guys stared the day jigging up some trout and as the tide rolled in, we headed East. It was tough finding a spot to fish, but I was able to make it happen on a couple little pockets that had not been hit. Some nice snook and a couple redfish filled out the afternoon and I thank you all for the fun day... Capt. Dan
