Bob's Tarpon...

The weather was against us today, but we gave it a try and I'm sure glad we did. I had my good friend and long time client Bob from Pennsylvania on board and he reached a life long goal today. Bob did a fine job landing and fighting his first tarpon. We only had a couple hours to fish as the conditions were deteriorating, but a properly presented DOA bait buster did the trick. For the afternoon, we tackled a couple snook and Bob caught his first one as well. A great time and congratulations... Capt. Dan

Awesome Snookin'....

The wind was howling close to 20knts for us today and a big weather change is on the way. The conditions weren't the best but, the snook bite was off the chain. I had Mike and Jason on board for the day and it was a truly special day. The father and son team had seventeen snook for the day and just about everywhere a snook should have been, there was one. We only used DOA glow jerk baits and lost a couple big fish as well. A day like today is special and I thank you both for an awesome Crystal River charter.... Capt. Dan

Team Sugarmill Woods...

The gang was back on board today with Mel, Bill and Jerry and it's always a great time. I ran back offshore again for the good trout action and we did well. It was a bit slower than the last two days, but still pretty steady with a mixed bag. Jigging MirrOlure Lil' Johns once again was the deal. We also anchored on a small rock for some great sea bass action, plus releasing the usual grouper too. To end the day Mel brought in s whopper 35" snook and Bill a fine upper-slot redfish. A wonderful time with you all and I thank you... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

The Novinger team with me today and we had a ball. We made the run to 10ft of water and some awesome action. Trout, sea bass, gags, lady fish etc... kept us busy. Watermelon provoker MirrOlure's were the flavor of the day on 1/8th oz jig heads. We secured a solid catch offshore and finished up the afternoon with a fine snook and upper-slot red fish. I thank you all for the great time and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Chazz Slam..

A nice inshore slam today with Carol and Bill on board and it was a beautiful day. I was out of Homosassa and I made the trek south. We used DOA glow jerk baits to start the day and caught a couple nice trout and sight fished a beautiful snook at 31". The tide got right about 1pm and we red fished the afternoon. It wasn't to great, but we caught a pair and we all had a great day. Here's Carol with a beautiful Chazz snook... Capt. Dan

Snook & Trips...

Jason and Mike were my team today and these guys had a fun one tackling some snook and tripletail. I loaded the rods with DOA glow jerk baits and we hit the back country. The trolling motor went down and we covered some ground. We had 8 snook hooked up, but only 3 made their way to the boat. Jason laded a beast of a one at 38" and his current personal best. We left the inside and ran offshore a bit and found a fine limit of triple tail to wrap up the afternoon. A great day with you both and I thank you.... Capt. Dan

Tarpon Opener...

A wonderful day with Mishel on board and she had a special day. Our trip started out using DOA glow jerk baits along the points and catching a fine upper slot snook to start the day. We took some great pictures of it, and released her to fight another day. Next up, I ran offshore to the cobia area and as luck would have it, two schools of cobia came by the boat and we caugth a couple good ones. The big bonus was Mishel landing the first Tarpon of the season and it was the perfect fish to do so. It was about 50lbs, put on a great show and we got some fantastic pictures. A very memorable day and I thank you as always... Capt. Dan

Happy Easter....

Happy Easter everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful day. I actually had the pleasure of fishing Marty and John for a 1/2 day charter, that I donated for the University of Florida extension office and we had a great morning. Marty caught his largest snook to date which was in slot at 32 1/2", but we released it to fight another day. We stayed in shallow and after the snook catch, we caught and released a few trout; kept three and just had a fun morning. It was a fun time and I look forward to seeing you again in the future... Engine Break In...

The wife and I took the silver king out for the initial engine break in and we wanted to "ensure" it catches fish. Well, it runs like a champ and catches snook too. We ran a couple hours then poled down a shoreline and caught two fine Crystal River snook on DOA glow jerk baits. A fun way to spend Sunday and we'll see you all on the water this week... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Slam...

A great day inshore with my old time friends Bob and Dave and the guys completed the inshore slam. The day started on the incoming tide and catching some red fish. We fished the outer keys and a live shrimp on a jig head produced the reds. We made a drift for some trout and caught a nice keeper, but I was game to try for snook and so were the guy's; so that's how we spent the afternoon. We used DOA glow jerk baits along the points and caught three fine snook with Bob's big dog coming in at 35". A great day and the wind eventually chased us in to finish up the day and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan
