Mom's Birthday...

A special happy birthday to my mom today as I took her and my brother out. We had a super fun day catching a great mix. Yesterday I was offshore with the Villages team and we had a great day with lots of action. I didn't take one picture, "I'm sorry guys", but we had some nice mango's and released lots of gags and undersized hogfish. Today though, was really great and just fun being with my family. They're all I have and they have been there for me when I've needed them most. Good grouper on the rocks, a cobia, triple tail and several snook - it was a fun day and Happy Birthday.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Tripeltails..

It sure was a pretty day with Mishel and Earl on board this Saturday, but my goodness the river was insanely busy. " I try not to fish many weekends if I can". We had a really fun day running down some real quality triple tail and a whopper of a snook. The cobia were around, but when they were spotted, they just wouldn't stay up long enough to get a shot at them. A free lined live shrimp did the trick for the tripletails and they're going to have some good eating groceries on a pair of 10lbers. I thank you both and great job.... Capt. Dan

Last Day Snooks...

I finished up the last day of our spring snook season with Shane and Curtis on board and the guys got them. It was a later take off today as the rain was coming down in the morning. The skies cleared around 10am and we hit the creeks. The cold front that passed had the winds pretty gusty out of the NW, so we stayed in the back and threw DOA jerk baits for our fish. Some nice snook filled out our day, a couple small reds and we ended the season strong. I thank you both and it was a great spring season.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Trout & Snook....

Snook and trout today with Jason and Corey on board and we had a pretty day. We mixed it up targeting some trout on cork rigs and snook in the mangroves. The snook were on the short side today, but fun all the same. The trout were all quality fish and we kept a few for dinner. Bourbon colored Lil' Jon's were the flavor of the day and I thank you both... Capt. Dan

Snook in the Silver King....

The fan was on high today and "wow" was it ever blowing. Tony was my solo guest in the Silver King and we stayed out of the wind the best we could. We spent the day using glow and Arkansas glow colored jerk baits for a couple snook and a red fish. The bite was off a bit and positioning the boat was challenging, but we still caught some good ones. Always a fun time with Tony Sans the one and only, and I thank you buddy... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Slam....

A terrific day out of Homosassa with Ott and Steve and they had a blast. We started the day with cork rigs catching some really fine trout off the keys. Root beer colored Lil' Jons were the ticket and we put a limit of ten fish on ice. We waited for the tide a bit and rounded up the afternoon tackling some snook and red fish to have the Homosassa slam. I thank you both and awesome job... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Cobia...

My first cobia trip of the year and Bob and John did well. I haven't been out to target them yet, so I had to do some moving around, but we found them. We sent down some live baits on some ledges and we caught a really nice keeper around the 38" mark. The new regulation now is 36" to the fork from the previous 33" size. The guys were happy with the cobia and we ended the afternoon with a couple fine snook. I thank you and great job.... Capt. Dan

Reds & Snook....

Another fun day in the skiff with Jason on board and we stayed back in the woods. We hit the points and creeks with the very gusty 20 plus mph winds, but still had a fun day. We caught some nice reds and snook on DOA jerk baits, while releasing them all today. I took Jason on a good boat ride as well, as we ran from Crystal River to Homosassa in the back country while stopping at Macrae's for a couple beverages for the way back home. A really fun day and I thank you buddy.... Capt. Dan

Pat's Slam....

My man Pat got the slam today and we did well. The day began jerk baiting some trout on the shallow flats as they bit much better today and we secured a quick limit. The tide was coming fast again, due to the condition's, so we got a jump on the snook and got our keeper. We ended the day with some red fish and our Crystal River slam was completed. Fun day buddy and I thank you... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Slam...

Always fun when you can accomplish a slam and with the Stephens family on board they did fine. We had to contend with a West wind and full moon tides which really brought in a lot of water, which made the bite a little slow. We hung in there though, and jerk baited some trout, snook and a couple reds on live shrimp. I thank you both and a really fun day.... Capt. Dan
