Crystal River, Getting Good...

One of those special days out of Crystal River for the Nash family and these guys had a good one. The bite was really on for us and a quick stop inshore on the red fish, got our day going. In five cast, the team brought four nice slot red fish to the boat. Next up, we headed West to 30ft and had a fantastic offshore afternoon. The gags cooperated nicely; as well as the grunts, snapper, mackerel and a bonus hog fish. Quite the day guys and congratulations on the stellar trip... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Mix...

A solid day inshore Homosassa with the Wallace team and it was fantastic. The red fishing started our day and it was good as it gets. The team had some of the best red fishing one could hope for and it was two hours of unbelievable action. We boated and released over forty red fish and live shrimp were the baits of the day. After our red fish fill, we filled out the day cork rigging a few trout and catching a little mix on some shallow rocks. A busy fish catching day and I thank you all for the wonderful time... Capt. Crystal River Variety...

What a mix of species today for the Surber family. Gene, Darlene and Hannah were my guest and we covered the entire basis. The inshore red fish action was good, plus the trout and it was a great start to the day. Just before 10:30am, we made our way offshore and added some more goodies to the day. Grouper, snapper, mackerel, cobia, bonito, etc... It was a fun one. The grouper bite was a bit slow, but in between grouper drops the other species kept us entertained. I thank you all for the fun time and here's Gene with the first Bonito of the upcoming fall season... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Inshore....

I wouldn't say today was a cold front, but it was definitely the first stiff NE breeze of the upcoming fall season. I had the pleasure of having the North team on board and it was just to bumpy to go off for grouper. So, we played the inshore game and did very well. Red fish on the keys, and trout on the flats with cork rigs-we had a fun day. Watermelon red/fleck Lil' johns were the top producer for the trout and we picked up a couple of macks too. Thank you guys and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Offshore/Inshore...

A deep run today out to close to 40ft with Brian, Brad and Robert and these gentlemen had a killer day. The gulf was absolutely flat calm and we hammered down offshore. Our first drop was very productive. Big mangrove snapper and a couple keeper gags greeted us right away, plus a couple mackerel too. We moved around a couple times, but no more keeper grouper - the big snapper kept us busy though. With a good catch, we ran inshore, stopped on a key and caught a fine red fish and snook to wrap up an outstanding day. Thank you all so much and I really look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Mango's & Macks...

A beautiful day with Mike and Kathy on board again and today, we were offshore bound. I covered the 20ft to 35ft range throughout the day and we had a respectable catch of snappers and mackerel. The grouper action was good as well, but once again - numerous 22" to 23" gags were all we could come up with. There was plenty of action and I thank you both for the great day... I leave for Wyoming Friday and I'll do my best to be posting updates from the trip and I'll be back in Florida at the end of the month. Good fishing... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix..

What an awesome time with the Manning party out of Crystal River and these gentleman had an awesome catch. I met the guys at the Plantation on Crystal River and we had a blast tackling the trout. We covered some ground from the shallow flats, to the offshore rocks and did very well. The team put an awesome catch of trout in the cooler and some real nice fish over 20" as well. Some mixed bag species came on board as well; including red fish, Spanish mackerel, jacks and blue fish. A great time and congratulations on a outstanding catch... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Trout & Macks...

A big change in the wind direction today and it turned the bite off a little bit for us. Pat and Chase joined me for the day and we had a fun time jigging up a few trout and Spanish mackerel. I began inshore where we did well yesterday, but the bite was not so good; so I ran offshore. The deeper grass patches were better and we did fine catching numerous short trout, some keepers and a couple macks to fill out the day. We had some good laughs, a fun time and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Rocks...

A little different game plan today and we made a run offshore and fished the rocks. I had the pleasure of having Dan, Alex and Brian on board visiting for spring break and we kept the rods bent today. There wasn't much water to work with for red fish, but the team picked up a quick keeper before it got to dry. Next up, I made a run to 17ft of water and we had steady action with grouper, mackerel, grunts, blue runners etc.... Live shrimp on knocker rigs and also some free lined did the trick. A couple trout filled out the afternoon and we beat the rain in, just in time. A great day and I thank you all so much for the fun time. Here's Alex with one of today's grouper... Capt. Dan

Jigging Trout....

A great time with Todd and Tom and it's been a couple years since we've all fished together. We had to work for the keepers today, as we officially found every short trout in the gulf... Eventually, we picked up a keeper here and there and the guys had a great catch. We did have a nice snook on, that chewed through the leader; but we did get to see him anyway. A fun time and I thank you both as always and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
