Mom's Birthday...

A special happy birthday to my mom today as I took her and my brother out. We had a super fun day catching a great mix. Yesterday I was offshore with the Villages team and we had a great day with lots of action. I didn't take one picture, "I'm sorry guys", but we had some nice mango's and released lots of gags and undersized hogfish. Today though, was really great and just fun being with my family. They're all I have and they have been there for me when I've needed them most. Good grouper on the rocks, a cobia, triple tail and several snook - it was a fun day and Happy Birthday.... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Tripeltails..

It sure was a pretty day with Mishel and Earl on board this Saturday, but my goodness the river was insanely busy. " I try not to fish many weekends if I can". We had a really fun day running down some real quality triple tail and a whopper of a snook. The cobia were around, but when they were spotted, they just wouldn't stay up long enough to get a shot at them. A free lined live shrimp did the trick for the tripletails and they're going to have some good eating groceries on a pair of 10lbers. I thank you both and great job.... Capt. Dan

First Triple tail...

Always a fun time with Clell on board and he was my solo guest today. He and I set off to the sheepshead grounds and did very well. We sent down the shrimp and had plenty of action with grouper, sheepshead and grunts. A nice bonus, was the first keeper triple tail of the year; as I spotted it on a weed patch and it quickly took a shrimp. I thank you Clell and enjoy all the fillets.... Capt. Dan

56 Degree Sheep's...

A pretty cold winter we've experienced so far and today was probably the coldest day yet. Ian, Michelle and Jeff were on board for the cold ride and with the gulf at 56 degrees, sheepshead were our plan. The bite was actually OK on a couple drops on the incoming tide, but when it turned to go out; it was over. Live shrimp on knocker rigs were our tackle of the day and a bonus tripletail, we picked up on the way in. I thank you all and great job... Capt. Dan

Cobia & Tripletail...

Another good day to be out of Crystal River with Joe and Joanne. The husband and wife team joined me and caught a beauty of a cobia and triple tail for the day. Cobia was our main target and we went 1 for 3 on hook ups, which is about right as they can sure be tough to keep buttoned up. Joe actually brought in a keeper sized gag grouper as the last cobia followed up, and I quickly changed gears as we hooked that fish. Live pinfish was our bait of the day and I thank you both as always for the good time... Capt. Dan

Good Haul...

Bill, Phil and Frank sure got it done today and we had a great catch. The day started right off with Frank making a perfect cast to a 12lb triple tail and that warmed us up. The sheepshead bite was next as we did OK; but it's just about over and I believe tomorrow will be the last day I try for them. I jumped around a bunch to get the sheepshead and the team finished off the day with a fine catch of trout to wrap it up. Great job fellas and I thank you... Capt. Dan

Offshore Crystal River...

A picture perfect day offshore with Ryan and Shane on board and these guys did awesome. We ran right away to the sheepshead grounds and the bite was good. Sheepshead, grunts, grouper and a whopper black drum kept us busy and it sure was some fun and steady fishing. Next up, we ran down dome triple tail and the fellas found three nice keepers to add to the day. I hope this weather continues and great job team... Capt. Dan

St. Patty Sheep's...

Another gorgeous day on the big pond with the Clements party and the team did outstanding. Non stop sheepshead action began our day and the rods were busy. We put our fifteen in the box and then began hunting triple tail. We got lucky and found a floating log that had several under it and we picked up a pair of nice keepers. A trout and red finished up the day on the inside and I thank you all for the really great day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

What another good haul for Phil on board, for day two. We pretty much did the exact same drill as yesterday, but we caught our trout in the morning. Sheepshead were on the same structures and so were the triple tail. Some of the largest sheepshead of the year put bends in the rods, and a couple were over 10lbs. Two really great days and I thank you as always for the fun time - and you make the best sandwiches... Capt. Dan

Big Haul...

Much better conditions today and "Uncle" Phil was in town from Pennsylvania. It's always a fun time when he's here and we had an awesome catch today. A pair of red fish started our day on an oyster bar and it was two cast's, two fish. Sheepshead were up next and we soon enough had a fine catch. We left the sheepshead and ran down some triple tail for our mid day in between tide changes - they are always a welcomed surprise. To end the day we jigged with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and a good catch of trout made their way on board. A fun 1st day buddy and I'll see you tomorrow... Capt. Dan
