A fun catch and release day with Rick on board and we covered some ground. We began the day in Salt River and we caught a nice slam. Snook, trout and red fish were all caught in less than an hour and on glow colored DOA jerk baits. For the rest of the day, we did some running around looking for cobia and triple tail. We did hook into "briefly", a keeper sized cobia, but the hook pulled and the triple tail we saw; were all on the short side. A great time my friend and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
The boys from the East side of the county were on board and Bart, Danny and Shane were the team for the day. I made the run to 9ft of water to some grass patches and we jigged out way to a fine catch of trout. The trout are on small isolated grass patches, but when you find them; they are really concentrated. We made about 4 drifts and the guys had their limit. Next up, we caught and released some gag grouper and brought home a couple fine triple tail to end the day. Always a great day with you all and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
The gulf is warming up again and trout are getting happy. After the early May cold front last week, it sure put the trout bite down a bit. Today though, we jigged the spotty bottom grass patches in 6ft-8ft of water and did well. Lots of good trout action and other mixed species kept us busy. MirrOluire Lil' Johns and DOA cal shad tails were the baits of the day. The Worthington family did fantastic and I always look forward to next time... Capt. Dan
One of those special day's and happy Mothers Day to all the mom's out there. I was fortunate to spend the day with mine and my wife, and we had a ball. We lucked into a pair of real hefty cobia with one being 41lbs and the other 38lbs. We sight fished them with DOA bait busters and they couldn't resist them. After the run offshore, I made our way in the north county creeks and we caught a couple beautiful snook to wrap up the day. A truly fantastic mothers day and you can always see the additional pictures on my Crystal River Fishing Facebook page... Capt. Dan
