Little Reds...

It has actually been a while, but yes the weather man was wrong today. The forecast South winds at 10knts were more closer to 15-20 today. I had high hopes of going offshore with my great clients Mishel and Earl, but unfortunately we just couldn't do it. We tried inside for snook hitting all my favorite spots, but came up empty. To put a bend in the rod though, we found some little reds to save the day and it's always great to see our up and coming stock in good shape. I thank you both as always for the fun day and lets hope tomorrow is a little less bumpy... Capt. Dan

The hot trout bite continues right now in the 6ft-8ft depth range. You have to stick with in because the fish hit in spurts, but when it's been good - its been good. I had Steve and Mike on board and we red fished for the morning hours, before we ran out to the trout. Red fish was slow as it has been, with just a couple little guys here and there. Around noon we made the run West and in three drifts, we had an awesome limit of trout. A fun day with you both and I look forward to our future trips... Capt. Dan

Awesome Crystal River Trout...

Other then the slow time between the tide change, today was non stop trout action. I had Kay, Tom and Bill with me for the day and we once again ran a bit offshore and jigged up some fine trout. MirrOlure bourbon Lil' Johns from Blue Water tackle in Homosassa and making drifts in the 7ft depth rage off the keys were the ticket. Every cast usually produced something exciting from trout, sea bass, lady fish, blue fish, sharks, grouper... you never know. The team worked for a great limit of trout and I always enjoy you all on board... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Trout....

Great day in Homosassa jigging the spotty bottom area's in the 7ft range and Chuck and Terry did awesome. It was quite a bit bumpy for the morning hours and it took a bit to get it going; but when it did it was good. Lots of lady fish action in between trout strikes, which is always fun to keep the momentum going. We pretty much used bourbon MirrOlure Lil' Johns all day and they did their job just great. A really fun day and I always look forward to our charters... Capt. Dan

Jigging Trout...

A really good day offshore Crystal River with Henry, Paul and Larry on board. We jigged our way to a fine catch of trout on the spotty bottom area's in the 6ft-8ft depth range using MirrOlure Lil' johns and they worked great. The trout bite came in spurts, but my goodness the lady fish kept us busy all day. We must have caught/hooked a couple hundred. That's always a good sign spring is here and the action was terrific. We finished with a great catch and I thank you all for the fun day... Capt. Dan

Offshore Crystal River...

One of the best and most memorable days offshore I may have ever had. I had Kristen and Nick on board for the day and we made the trek out to 35ft of water. We did a mix of bottom fishing, trolling and free lining to fill out the day. The bottom fishing for grouper was excellent and we released well over a dozen keeper sized gags, but also caught some red grouper too. The highlight of the day for us though, were the big king mackerel. We free lined sardines while on anchor and caught some beautiful hefty king fish close to 20lbs. These fish were drag burning monsters and it was truly great. I had a first for me today and landed a couple scamp grouper. Scamp grouper are usually found real deep and though these weren't keeper sized; it was still cool to see them. Non stop action and what a beautiful day - I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Ladies of the Gulf Variety...

An awesome day and an even better crew on board today. I had the pleasure of having the "Ladies of the Gulf" on board and we had a great mixed bag. Today's trip began drifting offshore a bit in about 6ft of water and jigging up some trout. In a couple of drifts, the team brought about a dozen beautiful trout to the boat, plus lots of lady fish keeping us busy as well. With a fine catch of Crystal River trout, our next stop was to anchor up and do some chumming. I picked one of my favorite rocks and we had plenty of variety. Free lined live shrimp in the chum slick kept us busy and I can't thank you all enough for the great day... Capt. Dan

Birthday Trout

A great birthday present for Tommy from his family and he had a full day scheduled with me. Tommy and I hit it off great and when he said he liked to throw artificial lures, we hit the spotty bottom areas West of Crystal River and threw jigs. Tommy and I had some excellent action on trout and had our limit in just two quick drifts. MirrOlure bourbon Lil' Johns were the baits today for the tout and our next stop was to catch and release some gags. Tommy threw a couple plugs and quickly released some fine gags in just 6ft of water. To end the day, we chummed up some macks and pulled on some hefty sharks to make the day a success. I thank you and your family for the fun time and look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Sheepshead Land...

One moire trip out to sheepshead land and we did excellent. I had the Cooper family on board and it was excellent. I fished a couple of my favorite ledges in the North country and it was good. I usually don' t fish sheepshead this late in the year, but this year has been excellent and might as well stay on them while the action is good. There still out there and a live shrimp on a knocker rig will keep the rod bent  "plus some gag grouper too". We ended the day with chumming up some mackerel and I can't thank you all enough for the great day. Here's the team with an excellent catch... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

Wow! What a beautiful day to go offshore and that's exactly what we did with Sarah and Randy on board. Once again, I made the run to the sheepshead grounds and the bite was just as good as yesterday's; but the size average was up a bit. The action was good and we even picked up a surprise snook on an offshore wreck in almost 20ft of water. With a fine catch of sheepshead, we anchored up and chummed up a few drag burning macks to wrap up the day. I thank you both for the fun time and congratulations on the outstanding catch... Capt. Dan
