Well, we made our run to the south flats today off Homosassa with Matt and Robinson in hopes of tackling a tarpon. The team and I left the dock at Macrae's at 6am and saw a few tarpon at sun up, but really didn't have to many shots to make it happen. As the tide came in, we made our way to the "point" and saw a few strings of fish, but no real good quality cast to hook up. So, to save the day we made a run deep in the salt river and my man Robinson caught his first snook on the fly to save the day. Robinson is quite the accomplished fly fisherman and I hope tomorrow brings some better opportunities for a tarpon.. Capt. Dan..

Tarpon, Gags & Cobia...

An amazing last three days with my cousin Rich on board. Rich was here for has annual tarpon June trip and we did outstanding. We jumped 17 tarpon over the last couple of days and boated four. Most of the fish were deep, so we used DOA bait busters for the majority of our days. Tides played a big role on when the tarpon turned on, but when they did; it was great. Rich also caught his first cobia and also caught and released a couple gag grouper. A very memorable trip and I always look forward to next year... Capt. Dan

In the Air...

Another fun day of chasing down the silver king with Jeff and Chris on board. I met the guys at 6am at Macrae's and we made our way to the famous tarpon grounds. The fish were rolling at sun up and we had some shots with the fly, but no eaters during the morning hours. By mid morning, we made a run to the North a bit and pulled out the DOA bait busters. The team jumped a couple and had some good action. I thank you both for the great time and I look forward to seeing you soon... Capt. Dan

Tarpon!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, well it's definitely about as good as it gets right now for the 2015 tarpon season. The last couple days, I've seen more fish than ever and we've jumped a couple really big fish. This is tarpon season at it's prime and luckily I was able to take some good pictures off the flats with some big schools of fish to share with you. Most of the fish have jumped a spit the hook, but that's all fun too... Capt. Dan

Tarpon On the Fly...

A fantastic day with Joe and Rick and we spent the last two days targeting tarpon on the fly. Yesterday wasn't the best with the overcast skies and low visibility; but today was outstanding. We had lots of shots at tarpon and once the tide got "right," the tarpon came up happy. We presented the fly beautifully to a laid up fish and Joe did great fighting it. He brought the leader into the rod several times to certify the catch and she eventually tail wrapped the leader and broke off. I really enjoyed the last two days with you both; I thank you again and look forward to our future trips... Capt. Dan

Incredible Day...

Everyday is great on the water, but as many of you know; some days are special. Today I had Cheryl on board and what a day we had. We jumped a beautiful tarpon and fought it for several minutes before it spit the hook. We saw a couple others, but left them to pursue some other species. Next on the list, we found a fine triple tail which was another first for Cheryl. After the triple tail, we were near one of my favorite snook locations, so I suggested giving snook a try. Believe it or not; the plan came together and we landed a beauty of a snook. To top off the day and another first, I hit the Ozello back country and she landed six fine red fish to end our day. A wonderful day and I thank you for the fun time... Capt. Dan
