Crystal River Inshore...

Written by

Always a fun day with Joe and Joanne and last trip we tackled the big cobia. For today's trip, we stayed inshore and did well on the trout and red fish. The tide was incoming for the morning hours so we jumped right into red fishing and cut pin fish was the bait of choice. The bait stealers are in full force now, so unless your shrimp is jumbo size; it won't last long. The couple did great on the red fish and released an over slot too. Next up, we jigged the 8ft range and caught some fine trout on a couple of drifts for the out going tide. I tried for a cobia , but all we came up with was some fine gag grouper. A great day with you both and this is my last "regular" charter for a while. Tarpon season is upon us and wish me luck. The next couple of weeks are going to be challenging, but fun all the same....
