Homosassa Trout, Reds and a Cobia Surprise...

Written by
Day two of the Homosassa Fishing Clubs Watson party and I had the Calhoun family on board for our 1/2 day charter. Leaving the club dock at 8am, we began the day with a couple nice slot red fish that fell to some free lined live shrimp. Not much of a tide today, but enough to cover the rocks and allow a little time red fishing. Our next stop was the "Chazz" kelp beds and the trout bite was slow, due to no wind and absolute slick calm conditions. When the breeze kicked in, so did the trout bite and a few keepers made their way in to the cooler. For today's surprise, Wade caught a nice cobia on a cork rig, which gave a hard fight to end our morning. I thank the entire group for a fun couple of days and we'll see you on your next visit...
