Crystal River Rocks...

Another fantastic day on the rock piles with Dan and Rick out of the Plantation on Crystal River and we had a great time. I met the team at the dock at 8am and we headed West. I mad the run to some shallow rock piles in 12ft of water, anchored up and sent down the pin fish. In less than 20 minutes we had our limit of gags and began using shrimp on knocker rigs for the grunts and mango's. The action was excellent and with a box full of goodies, we called it a day. Thank you both for the fun time and I look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan

A fun 1/2 day charter out of the Plantation on Crystal River with Joe and Amanda and we tackled some grouper. I met the couple at 8am and we headed West. I ran to some of my shallow ledges and did quite well. Some good grouper action on live pin fish and we had a couple break us off that were some "good ones". Some grunts and other goodies were added to the day and I thank you both for the fun day... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Reds...

The reds are in town!!! What an excellent day in Homosassa at the Hommosassa Fishing Club fishing the Stribling party and the red fish bite was on. Today's day consisted of some scalloping and an afternoon of fishing. The Scalloping was off quite a bit today as it has been; but the afternoon red fish action was superb. My team did excellent as we boated close to 30 red fish while free lining live shrimp and cut pin fish. My young anglers George and Henry were on fire and these guys made me proud. A fun time with you all and congratulations on a great day... Capt. Dan

Offshore...

Probably the nicest day of the grouper season so far to go offshore and Mike and Pat hit it out of the park. This was a fun trip I've been promising these guys and it worked out beautifully. Calm seas and a smooth ride out to the 20ft range. We sent down the live pin fish and it was on. Hefty gags, a keeper red grouper and a bonus hog fish was our catch. The day couldn't have been any better and I thank you both for the great day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix...

What a great day out of the Plantation on Crystal River with Jeff and Ryon and we had a ball. Once again, running offshore was the plan and we fished the 15ft range today and had some great action. The grouper bite was excellent on live baits and the team quickly caught their limit of gags. To fill out the rest of the day, we sent down live shrimp around the rock piles for a little variety. Numerous grunts, mangrove snapper and flounder filled out the day. A beautiful day and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Gags...

Another beautiful day offshore Crystal River today, but we unfortunately got rained out yesterday. Rick and Lisa were my guests for the day and we were in grouper digging mode. I made the run to a couple of my favorite ledges and sent down the pin fish. The action was steady and we caught a fine limit of gags. We picked up a couple of mangrove snapper and grunts as well and it was just a great day to be on the water. I thank you both for the fun day and I hope to see you in the future... Capt. Dan

Late Take Off...

A late take off for us today as my client Ed had to work a bit late, but we found the snook he was looking for. I have officially moved my charter operation to the Plantation on Crystal River today on the days I'm out of Crystal River and I know all my clients will like the new change. Great hospitality, clean restrooms, outstanding restaurant at 82 West and a beautiful place to stay while visiting Crystal River. Ed was my guest today and he's quite the accomplished fisherman. He has caught more big game species than I probably ever will, but a Crystal River snook was on his list. We reached his goal today "in 20 mph West winds" and it was a beautiful fish. A DOA glow jerk bait did the trick and the afternoon was made. A fun time with you my friend and I hope to do it again soon... Capt. Dan

Grouper Land...

Finally... Today was the day to go offshore and with almost a week of unfavorable conditions; I don't know who was more excited my clients or me. I had Clell and Bob on board for the day and it was awesome. We made the run to 25ft of water and in 15 minutes the team had their limit of beautiful Crystal River gags. Our next stop, I ran a quick mile to some live bottom and with live shrimp on knocker rigs; the guys had non stop action with mangrove snapper, more grouper and a bonus hog fish. It felt great to have the weather to go offshore and I can only hope it holds for the coming weeks.... Capt. Dan

Weather Waiting....

As many of you all know, I've been welcomed back to rain, thunderstorms and wind. I've cancelled a couple charters, but I did make it out Friday. I had the Bosworth family on board and with white caps, on and off rain all around; we had to cancel our grouper plans and stay inshore. The team had some decent trout action on DOA deadly combo cork rigs, but lots of under sized trout with only one making it over 15". The tide was a major one and with the winds increasing close to 20knts, it pushed it in even further. The red fish bite was tough with the huge amount of tide, but we managed a couple keepers and some shorts for the afternoon. It was still good to be back on the gulf and I hope this weather pattern changes soon... Capt. Dan
