1/2 day Sheep's..
Another frosty morning, so we did a late take off and left at 10am for today's trip. I had the Paff team on board and we spent a 1/2 day, targeting some sheepshead. The full moon is upon us and it really kicked in the sheepshead bite. Live shrimp on knocker rigs were the deal and we had plenty of action. A great day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Trout & Sheeps....
A fun day with Chris and Gerald as we caught some trout and sheepshead. The day started out running offshore a bit dropping on some sheepshead spots and we caught a few; but it really was a slow bite and a couple pulled off on their way to the top. The tide was coming in good, so we changed gears, ran shallow and caught some nice trout on DOA jerk baits. A nice day, good little mix and I thank you both... Capt. Dan
Offshore Goodies....
What a gorgeous day to go offshore and Mark and Craig had an awesome trip. I pushed on out to 40ft of water today and the snapper bite was great. The team secured a beautiful limit of keeper mangos, plus some hefty sheepshead as well. We used close to 300 shrimp and it was a busy day of catching. I thank you both and terrific job... Capt. Dan
Cold 1/2 day Sheep's...
Ice on the boat this morning folks, and yes it was a cold one. I had Jeff and Helen on board for a 1/2 day trip and we found a few. The bite was slow as the gulf is still in the mid 50's, but we found enough sheepshead for a meal or two. Live shrimp on a light 1/8thoz jig head did the trick and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan
Cold, Cold, Cold....
My goodness, probably the coldest I've been on the water in sometime; but we made it happen. It's been tough to make it out lately between the weather and my treatments I've been doing. Today though, was definitely doable, just the cold to contend with and we did well. I had the boys on board and we stayed busy offshore with grunts, snapper, grouper and sheepshead. A busy day catching and live shrimp was our bait of choice... Capt. Dan
In the Weeds...
Some fun today in my good friend JC and Kayla's mud boat, as it was to rough to do my grouper charter and I rescheduled. We had a blast running the extreme skinny water fishing the holes back in the weeds. Lots of action and we caught a nice inshore mix, using both jerk baits and live shrimp. I thank you both and a great time. Also, I go in for another round of treatment tomorrow; so I'll be off the water for about a week. I'm hoping to get back on the grouper action late next week. I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Spain Family...
A really fun day with the Spain family and we did a little bit of everything. The day started on the rock piles catching some groceries for the family with some sheepshead, grunts and Spanish mackerel. Scott the dad had never caught a grouper and mentioned the night before we fished, if he could catch one. Well, that was no problem at all, as I pulled up to a shallow rock and we made six cast and produced six gags all of keeper size to be released. The day ended with a couple snook and I thank you all for the fun day... Capt. Dan
Trout Jigging...
A great day jigging up some trout with Larry, Big Fish Bob and Lauren. We spent the morning on some spotty bottom areas using MirrOlure Lil' Jons and had really great action. On just a couple drifts, we secured a fine limit of quality trout and finished up the day with a few late season sheepshead. No snook today, but hopefully we'll get them next time. Great job team... Capt. Dan
Crystal River, Great Day...
What a great day with Michael and his son Conner and they sure did well. Uncle Phil had to cut his trip short a day early yesterday due to possible travel problems with this panic that's going on, but we sure had three great days. Today though, was awesome with really a nice easy day of sheepshead, trout and a nice snook. The seas were a touch bumpy, but not to bad and the action was steady. The father and son team did really well and I thank you both... Capt. Dan
Offshore Fun Day Three...
Day three with Uncle Phil and not to sound like a broken record, but really good fishing and absolutely beautiful weather. The big difference today was my goodness, the sheepshead were fired up. They were almost on the surface in a ball behind the boat eating the shrimp we were using. We just kept a couple and released close to 40 I bet. Lots of quality gags as well were released and the grouper season is looking VERY VERY good. Great job as always.... Capt. Dan
