Working for Them....
Well folks it's been a little bit tough the last couple of days on the big pond with the drop in water temperature and weak tide. The trout bite has been a grind as we've had to move around to find a couple fish. Yesterday with Bill and Roland on board, I could only find a couple to cooperate and today was a bit better, but still hard work. The team today of Curtis and Shane had fun with some trout and a couple surprise snook which were taken on the DOA jerk baits. They were a welcomed bonus as always and a fun catch for sure. I thank you all for the great day and here's Curtis with the second snook he's ever caught... Capt. Dan
Afternoon Trout....
Travis and Tabitha were my team today and I said lets do the afternoon shift again, and it was another great call. Our noon take off from the Plantation, incoming tide and happy trout was our recap of our charter. The trout action was really good as we were sight casting to some of them in the shallow hard bottom flats. DOA glow jerk baits were the deal for us and the husband and wife team did outstanding. I thank you both and they're going to try these fillets in their new oil-less air fryer this evening.... Capt. Dan
Late Take Off Slam...
With the morning tides being so terrible lately, I decided to just fish the afternoon incoming tide with John and Chris and it was a perfect decision. The guys met me at the Plantation just before noon and we had a terrific afternoon. A nice limit of trout were caught on DOA jerk baits, plus a couple red fish as the tide kept coming in on the points. The weather and conditions were so nice and Chris even caught two snook to complete his first Crystal River inshore slam. You guys had quite the day and great job... Capt. Dan
Back on the Water....
Hello everyone and I first want to thank all of you that have checked in with me and sent prayers as I go through another bump in the road. I'm all healed up from my surgery and now I'm doing a couple cycles of chemotherapy. It's keeping me down a little bit, but we're going to get through it and keep on fishing. Today though, I was back on the big pond with Jason on board and we caught a mix of red fish, sheepshead, grouper and grunts. I had hopes in trying to tackle some snook, but the gusty East wind blew all the water out and made fishing the inside impossible. We dropped down on a couple ledges, released several sheepshead and found a pair of lower slot red fish on one of the outer points before we called it a day. Always a good time and it sure feels like spring out there... Capt. Dan
Update...
Hello everyone I just wanted to check in and let you all know I just had another surgery and I'll be off the water healing for a couple weeks. I'm hoping to be back to work towards the end of the month and I appreciate everyone's support and patience as I recover from this. I thank you all and I'll keep you updated... Capt. Dan
