Quite the trout bite today on the North side of Ozello and they were hitting excellent. I had a solo charter today, Josh from North Carolina on board and we took the skiff and found the trout. The tide was as an extreme low one and I couldn't have gotten even close to these fish today in the big boat. We fished the shallow pot holes and depressions with DOA glow jerk baits and in two drifts, we caught our limit and released a few others. With a nice catch of trout, we then poled the creeks for some red fish and saw a nice tailer. We couldn't connect on him, but did catch a beautiful multi spot one before we called it a day. Thanks Josh for the great time and look forward to seeing you again... Capt. Dan
What an incredible day to be offshore. Calm seas, top to bottom visibility and the grouper were on! I had my dear great clients Mishel and Earl on board for the day and as a treat, they asked if my wife Becky could come along and join the fun. The day was perfect for trolling and we trolled up some fine grouper on Rapala x-rap 20's. Just about all the gags were above the 14lb mark and the largest was just under 20lbs. We did anchor up and try our luck for a hog fish, but none today. Lots of non stop action though with grunts, more large grouper and a trigger fish. A beautiful day with great friends and family and I thank you all so much for the excellent day.... Capt. Dan
Happy New Year everyone. I wish you all a very blessed and prosperous new year as we began 2015. Also, I thank all my wonderful clients that I have shared many hours with on the water and those of you that take the time to follow my daily reports and pictures. I truly enjoy watching that rod bend everyday and making great memories on the water. I look forward to 2015 and seeing you all on the big pond... Capt. Dan
What a great trout bite in Homosassa to end the 2014 year. I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club with my great friends Capts. Zorn, Long and Toney and we had the pleasure of fishing the O'Kelly/Green party. Ellis, Lynn and Bo were my guests and even though the tide was a bottom out low, we were able to connect with some trout. We didn't venture to far from the river and basically worked a small area of depressions using DOA deadly combo's rigged with MirrOlure Lil' John's. The trout action was great with lots of fish in the 14" range, but each drift produced some keepers as well. All the boats did excellent and it was a fantastic way to end the year... Capt. Dan
