Another great time at the Trout Masters tournament and I teamed up with my dear friend Capt. Clay Shidler. The day was absolutely fantastic and we caught and released over fifty keeper trout, with most of them over the 18" mark. We used a mix of DOA jerk baits, Unfair lures plugs and MirrOlure Lil' Johns. It definitely warmed up to a "hint of spring" is on the way, and the fishing is only going to get better. The great trout catcher Dr. Cliff Roseborough took first place, while Clay and I took second. A great time and I hope we can do it again next year... Capt. Dan
The wind swapped out of the East today and allowed us to go offshore again, in search of sheepshead. John, Wayne and Bill were my guest today and in just two drops, the guys had an excellent catch of sheepshead. We kept five fish person then moved on to jigging some trout. I loaded the rods with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and in a couple drifts, the team had some good trout action. A beautiful day and I thank you all for the great time... Capt. Dan
Not a real big tide today despite the stiff W/NW wind, but Dan and Bobby had a great trout day. We left the Plantation on Crystal River just after 8:30am and we made our way to the creek mouths. DOA glow jerk baits were the top producers for us on the trout and we had to work for them; but we eventually found a good school of fish. The team brought home a fine limit of trout, and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan
A very special day for myself and several other members of the Homosassa Guides Association, as we had the honor of fishing the wounded warriors today. This was a great day and we ensured a great time to make a memorable day for them and their families. Fishing was a bit tough, but we all caught a mix of trout, flounder, Spanish mackerel, pompano and sheepshead. The team and I prepared an outstanding shore lunch and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day and thank you all for what you have done for us. We look forward to next year... Capt. Dan
