Capital City Bank Trip...
Today was our annual Capital City Bank trip headed up by Capt. Jim long and myself and fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captains Jonathan Hamilton, William Toney and Don Chancey were the guides. I had Ray, Alley and Joe on board for the day and once again we ran south to catch some trout for our noon shore lunch. The trout bite was fair and all the boats averaged 1/2 a dozen keepers before the lunch departure. With plenty of fish in the cooler, we pulled up to the Suarez house at Hell's gate and prepared an awesome feast. Fried fish, bacon, gator meat, hush puppies, Cole slaw and beans - it was fantastic. Another great trip was had by all and I thank you all for the great time. Here's a picture of one of our shore lunch specials... Capt. Dan
Homosassa Trout, Reds & Gags....
Day two today with the Carter party at the Homosassa Fishing Club and we headed south to target some trout. Our first stop though, was off St. Martin's keys to tackle some red fish. I had Ronnie and Jane on board and the couple made four cast and had four keepers. Yes folks, it was that good and we put up the red fish rods. For a change of scenery, I ran south of the "Chazz" channel and with DOA deadly combos in hand; the team caught some fine trout. The bite wasn't super hot, but we caught a keeper or two on each drift. The seas slicked off to glass and to end the day, we plugged up a couple shallow water gags to top off our charter.
