Crystal River Trout & Reds...

It's been a long time in the making, but I was finally able to fish with my good friend Jimmy and his family today. Jimmy and I went to school together and his girlfriend Libby, treated him and her family to a charter for a Christmas present. Today's trip was very good as the red fish cooperated pretty well right away and the trout action was excellent too. DOA deadly combos were the hot ticket for the trout and it was fun to use cork rigs in about 4ft of water for the trout. The red fish bit on live shrimp on a jig head and the team fished really well throughout the day. I thank you all for the fun time and I really hope we get to do it again sometime soon... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Mix..

What an awesome time with the Manning party out of Crystal River and these gentleman had an awesome catch. I met the guys at the Plantation on Crystal River and we had a blast tackling the trout. We covered some ground from the shallow flats, to the offshore rocks and did very well. The team put an awesome catch of trout in the cooler and some real nice fish over 20" as well. Some mixed bag species came on board as well; including red fish, Spanish mackerel, jacks and blue fish. A great time and congratulations on a outstanding catch... Capt. Dan

Another hot trout bite south of Homosassa on the rock bars with DOA jerk baits. Tom and Tommy were in town from Atlanta and they really did well. We made several drifts and got a fine limit of trout for the morning hours. We ran back up North to red fish and caught a couple, with one making it in the slot. We did try our luck for a last minute snook at the end of the day and had one on - but didn't stay connected. A great time and I look forward to seeing you guys in the future... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Trout & Reds...

As good as it gets for us today out of Homosassa with the Dauchess party and the team did great. I haven't fished the guys before out of Homosassa, but they sure did enjoy it and we even made our way down into "Chazz". It took a little bit to get the bite going; but as the tide rolled in - the DOA glow jerk baits fired up the trout and we had a beautiful catch of trout. With the trout catch secured, we ran a bit North and free lined some shrimp to add some nice red fish to the mix to end the day. I thank you all for the great time. I won't see you all until December, but the days we've had are great and I look forward to many more... Capt. Dan

Another beautiful day here in Citrus County and Frank and Scott had a nice variety. The day began jigging up some trout along the rock bars with MirrOlure Lil John's and the trout cooperated nicely. We put a fine limit on board and our next target, was running down some triple tail. The triple tail were plentiful, and a simple free lined live shrimp up current from them did the trick. The rest of the day we spent tackling the snook and the team and I went 1 for 4, plus a red fish; to wrap up the day. I thank you both for the fun time and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

A very fun day with Brent and Justin out of the Plantation on Crystal River and the guys had a great catch of trout and a few red fish. The day started out targeting trout inshore, but the bite was slow; so I made a run to 8ft of water and the action picked up. We jigged up a couple fine trout and then ran back inshore to catch the tide for red fish. A mixed size of red fish were caught from over slot, slot and little guys to bend the rod. I made one more stop on the way in on some oyster bars for trout; and we finished up our catch. I thank you both fro the fun day and I look forward to next time. Here's Justin with a fine Crystal River red fish.. Capt. Dan

Homosassa Trout & Reds...

Good to be in Homosassa with Chuck and Terry on board and we left Macrae's at 8am and began the day red fishing. We free lined live shrimp on the outer keys and did well picking up a few keeper reds. The red fish bite slowed, so we changed rods and went to DOA jerk baits for the trout. The guys caught some fine trout and we beat the rain storms in, just in time. A great time and I hope to see you again soon... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Variety...

A good mix today out of Crystal River with Dave and Danny on board and these gentlemen had a ball. The wind and seas backed off today and allowed me to do a little variety in the day. I began the trip on the little bit of incoming tide we had, and started red fishing. We picked up a pair of nice keepers to start the trip on live shrimp. The water was leaving fast, so the guys jumped right in to trout mode and we did well. Both inshore and a bit offshore, we found several fine trout. With some time to spare and the conditions were right - we tackled some triple tail. The triple tail action was absolutely fantastic and in short order, we had some good ones to finish off the day. I thank you both for the fun time and you were a pleasure to have on board... Capt. Dan

Spring Time Trout & Reds...

A very special day with the Novinger family and we all had a ball, as it was Jaca's birthday. The family had a great trip and after picking them up at their dock on the river; we started the day in the shallow water with DOA jerk baits catching some trout. The morning was a little slow, but when then the tide starting coming; the trout bite was great - just like yesterday. The team put together a fine catch of trout and we then tackled some reds for the afternoon. We boated around five reds fish with a couple keepers, under slots and a big dog to finish off our day. I had a great time with you all and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

A beautiful day with Ron, Dean and Jim from the Villages Deep Sea Fishing Club and the guys had an awesome catch of trout and red fish. The day began a little bit slow as the tide was dumping out pretty low, but as I ensured the team; once it turns the bite will turn on. " If I can ever give any one any advice - the tides play a HUGE role on when and where the fish feed every day". That being said, once the tide started coming in, we hit the creek mouths with DOA glow jerk baits and did awesome. Juts a couple drifts produced a limit of trout and we then jumped right in to red fishing. A couple points with free lined live shrimp did the trick on the red fish, and a great day was had by all. I look forward to next time with you guys and thanks again for the fun time... Capt. Dan
