Back from Maine!

Hello everyone, I'm back from a terrific trip from the North country of Maine. Myself and my buddy Jim had an awesome time with the Landlocked Salmon and Brook trout. We totaled over 130 salmon for the week reaching 7 lbs and some beautiful fall colored Brook Trout over 18". The weather was perfect with lows in the 40's and high's in the low 60's. We caught them on a variety of streamers and dry fly's. We're already planning next years trip and I can't wait.... Capt. Dan

Dirty Water Gags...

I took the boys today to the North country and we fished the dirty water. Lauren, Big Fish Bob and Larry did a fine job on the grouper and we bottom fished some good ones. I put them on a variety of bottom from rocks, wrecks and ledges. All the places produced well and I can't thank you all enough for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Good Crystal River Gags....

A very fun day with Tim and Jeanne and the team did a terrific job in grouper land. I took the couple to some new bottom I found last week and "holy cow" it sure is good. We caught several nice grouper and live pin fish was the deal. The big surprise of the day was the keeper sized red grouper we caught and this was the first one I've seen since 2010 after the big red tide we had offshore. I thank you both and you did outstanding... Capt. Dan

NE Wind Gags...

I would have normally cancelled a day like today for the forecast, but with just having two people on board - Mishel and Earl were really game to give it a try. We headed out the river and were greeted to a very stiff NE wind, and just making it to my bait traps was bumpy. I dug in my little black book and we fished a couple little ledges I have and we did well. It was an all day event as the bite was slow and sitting on each spot for a long while paid off. We also landed another beautiful snook on a grouper spot and it's so great to see them spawning. You both were troopers and I thank you as always... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Delivers....

You just had to be there today! What an experience with Bob and Nancy for their second trip this week and it was a day to remember. The day consisted of grouper, cobia, giant offshore spawning snook and another surprise tarpon. All these species were on a ledge and caught basically bottom fishing for grouper. The tarpon was so awesome and this one put on quite a show " almost landed in the boat on a series of jumps". We got it boat side for a quick picture and she swam away beautifully. A tremendous day and I thank you both.... Capt. Dan

Team Pennsylvania....

Always a great time with Bob and Nancy from Pennsylvania and they had a good one today. Grouper was our plan again and we headed West. The seas were bumpy for the majority of the day, so I had to stay shallow. I moved around quite a bit catching shorts on each stop and finally the seas calmed enough to push out to 17ft of water. I set up on one of my honey holes and we had a limit in less than five minutes. It was awesome action and actually had numerous grouper following our hooked fish back to the boat. I thank you both and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Flat Calm Gags...

Flat calm conditions for us today and we had a smooth ride to grouperville. Karl, Scott and Steve were my guests and they did very well for their first time grouper digging. I ran offshore to the 30ft range and had steady action all day. The guys turned some nice keepers, lost a couple and released numerous shorts all through out the trip. We live baited today, but trolling season is just around the corner and I'm looking forward to that... Capt. Dan

Morning Reds...

Some morning red fish action today with Sue and Debbie on board out of Crystal River. It's been a while since I've been out from all the wind Dorian brought us, but today was the last of the breezy conditions for a while. I stayed inshore and hit the keys with cut bait for our red fish. We caught a limit of reds and tried a while for a snook, but no takers today. I thank you both and I'll see you next time... Capt.
