Homosassa Reds and Mix...

What a day for the red fish in Homosassa. The bite was spectacular today for my team and Donna, Chris and Tony did outstanding. I picked up the group from their home on the Homosassa River and we hit the points on the outer keys for the red fish. Every point we fished today produced red fish and free lined live shrimp under a DOA deadly combo corks worked beautifully. With plenty of red fish action under our belts, I ran to a couple shallow rocks and added a nice variety of grouper, grunts, mackerel and snapper to fill out our charter. A perfect day and I thank you all for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Inshore....

A good day back inshore out of the Homosassa Fishing Club today with Russel and Patrick on board fishing the Dodson party. The red fish bite was excellent for the morning hours on the out going tide and free lined live shrimp in the mullet schools called up the reds. We had to keep an eye on a pretty bad storm out to the West and it changed my offshore plans. As a back up, we added a couple trout to the mix and just afternoon; we prepared a Homosassa special shore lunch... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Reds...

The reds are in town!!! What an excellent day in Homosassa at the Hommosassa Fishing Club fishing the Stribling party and the red fish bite was on. Today's day consisted of some scalloping and an afternoon of fishing. The Scalloping was off quite a bit today as it has been; but the afternoon red fish action was superb. My team did excellent as we boated close to 30 red fish while free lining live shrimp and cut pin fish. My young anglers George and Henry were on fire and these guys made me proud. A fun time with you all and congratulations on a great day... Capt. Dan

Weather Waiting....

As many of you all know, I've been welcomed back to rain, thunderstorms and wind. I've cancelled a couple charters, but I did make it out Friday. I had the Bosworth family on board and with white caps, on and off rain all around; we had to cancel our grouper plans and stay inshore. The team had some decent trout action on DOA deadly combo cork rigs, but lots of under sized trout with only one making it over 15". The tide was a major one and with the winds increasing close to 20knts, it pushed it in even further. The red fish bite was tough with the huge amount of tide, but we managed a couple keepers and some shorts for the afternoon. It was still good to be back on the gulf and I hope this weather pattern changes soon... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Reds...

A fun day out of Crystal River with Bob and John and with the conditions the way they were; it was a great day to target red fish. I met the guys at Pete's Pier at 8am and we arrived at the mouth of the river to an incoming tide. The wind was up a bit out of the West and I knew it would bring the tide in a hurry. The team and I jumped point to point freelining live shrimp and did very well on red fish. Looking for mullet activity was the key to success and they guys did great. I thank you both for the fun day and I look forward to next time... Capt .Dan

Back Inshore!!!

The first day back to inshore fishing after a long tarpon season run. I had the pleasure of having Jason and Deanna on board and for today's trip, we found some fine Crystal River red fish. The incoming tide was perfect for red fishing, so we hit the back country in the Salt River area and did awesome. The couple caught a fine limit of red fish on free lined live shrimp and a couple mangrove snapper and trout as well. To cool off, we spent the afternoon and Sandy Hook to relax and enjoy the afternoon. Great job today and I thank you both for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Mix...

An awesome day with my great guide friends William Toney and Mark Zorn and we fished the Manriki party out of Macrae's. We each had three anglers per boat and did great. Mix bag catches on the shallow rocks filled out most of the day, with a couple red fish and trout to add to the days 1/2 day charter. The mangrove snapper fishing was excellent and if you get a chance, send down some live shrimp around the rocks piles and you'll catch some fine eating fish... Capt. Dan

Incredible Day...

Everyday is great on the water, but as many of you know; some days are special. Today I had Cheryl on board and what a day we had. We jumped a beautiful tarpon and fought it for several minutes before it spit the hook. We saw a couple others, but left them to pursue some other species. Next on the list, we found a fine triple tail which was another first for Cheryl. After the triple tail, we were near one of my favorite snook locations, so I suggested giving snook a try. Believe it or not; the plan came together and we landed a beauty of a snook. To top off the day and another first, I hit the Ozello back country and she landed six fine red fish to end our day. A wonderful day and I thank you for the fun time... Capt. Dan

Quite the perfect day on the big pond with Jim and Bill on board and the team did great. We left from Pete's Pier just after 9am and began targeting trout. We fished both the flats near Gomez rocks with DOA deadly combos and the offshore spotty bottom areas. The action was steady throughout the day and with the tide making high and a fine catch of trout, we hit the mangroves for some red fish. The guys did well catching a few, with one over slot and several little up and coming stars. A fun time as always and I thank you both for the great day... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Fun...

A great day with Pat and Laura Lou on board and we made a day of jigging trout and tackling some red fish. The steady East wind was howling again today, so it took a bit for it to lay down; but when it did we made the run offshore and found some fine trout. We used a combination of bourbon and watermelon red/flake MirrOlure Lil' johns for today's trout. With a good catch of trout and the tide making high, we hit the salt river area and boated a fine pair of red fish to top off the day. A windy day, especially inshore; but we did well and I thank you both for the fun day... Capt. Dan
