It was a blowing today!!!! I had originally had Phil and his son Joe scheduled for a full day trip and with the small craft advisories, I cancelled the trip. However, they're here to fish and I wasn't going to disappoint them. Around 1pm, I said " let's meet at Macrae's, hit the creeks in the Little Homosassa River and give it a try ". It was whitecaps and foamy on the outside, but when we reached the back country, it wasn't to bad. I put the trolling motor down and we covered a bunch of water. MirrOdines, glow DOA jerk baits and assorted jigs put seven nice trout in the box and a couple red fish, with one in the mid slot range. We definitly saved the day and for the tough conditions and we did well. Thank you both for the great time and look forward to our future trips... Capt. Dan
A late afternoon trip with my great client Phil from Pennsylvania and we got on the trout. Phil met me at 1pm at Pete's Pier and we caught the incoming tide just right to find some trout. We were loaded with DOA cal shad tails and MirrOlure Lil' Johns and jigged the rock bars. The tide was absolutely perfect, and in less than an hour; we had our limit. I made a run to a ledge to add some sheepshead, but the water was like chocolate milk and we didn't have any takers. A beautiful afternoon and I thank you bud for the fun time. Here's Phil with the big trout of the day... Capt. Dan

Wow, I love this weather. Joe and Joanne were on board with me for the day and they did great. The couple met me at Pete's Pier and we made our way down the river. Tackling some trout was on order and we found them in a couple different areas. From the outer spoil islands and back country bays, the MirrOlure LIl' John's and MirrOdines did their job. We put a fine catch of keeper trout in the boat and I could only find a short red fish to go along with the trout. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I look forward to seeing you both again soon... Blue skies and sunshine... "FINALLY". A beautiful day out of Crystal River and Pat, Robert and Brad had a day. With very favorable conditions for running offshore; I told the guys hang on, we're going West. I spent the day on some deeper rocks, wrecks and ledges and the sheepshead were in a frenzy. The action was non stop and the water was crystal clear. The gang would hook a fish and we would watch the others follow it up off the bottom. I suggested keeping five a person and we released the others. Some fine tasting grunts kept the rods bent as well and a outstanding day is in the books. Thank you all for great time and look forward to seeing you again soon... Capt. Dan
