Foggy Grouper...
Yes folks the old saying "the fog was thick as peanut butter" was especially true today. It was definitely not fun running around offshore today, but we made it happen. Matt, Mike and Ryan were the team and we did well. Bait was hard to come by, but we had enough to be dangerous and plus we trolled up a couple on Rapala plugs. Running spot to spot at 10 miles an hour will wear you down in the fog and it sure is stressful. However, it was still a fun time and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Fun Grouper Day...
A really fun grouper day with Mr. Mike on board again and just in time, as the grouper season is winding down. Mike was just on board about a week ago and he was ready for his last trip of the year. Well, we ran to about 23ft of water and sent down the pinfish. We made a couple stops and turned some really nice gags, securing a limit by noon. I thank you my friend and we'll do it again next year.... Capt. Dan
Merry Christmas....
Hello everyone!!! I want to wish you and all your family's a very Merry Christmas. Have a great holiday from Myself, Becky and Yukon and I'll see you on the water soon... Capt. Dan
Christmas Eve, eve Grouper...
Always a super fun time with Mishel and Earl and even tough we had some pretty drastic weather lately; we were going to give it a try. We left the dock at 9am with ice on the boat and were greeted to muddy, dirty water in the gulf - oh, and it was 56 degrees. I wasn't thinking to much was going to happen, so we ran to 30ft of water and luckily the deeper choice paid off. Mishel had the hot rod and she boated all the keeper gags on live pin fish. We made it happen in the tough condition's and great job... Capt. Dan
Pre Front Gags...
A fun day with Shane and Jason as we stayed in close today and hit several places in the 10ft range. The bite was great right out of the gate and immediately, we had a pair of keepers. We moved around little by little catching a few more, but when the seas slicked off - the bite was DONE. The weather is going to be extremely windy and lots of rain on the way, but I'll be back out there soon as it breaks. We made it happen and great job today fellas... Capt. Dan
The Russ Team...
The father and son Russ team was with me today and they were ready to go to war on some grouper. Mike and Jason fish with me regularly and they hit it as good as it could be. One stop, 15 minutes and a limit of grouper. Yes, it was that good and the day was made. You both did terrific and I thank you... Capt. Dan
Three Generations...
A fantastic trip with three generations of Fitzpatricks on board. Pat, Shane and Trace ran offshore with me and we dropped down and found some really nice gags. The team each took turns and live pin fish was out ticket today. Young Trace had a ball and he caught a 12lber all by himself. I thank you all and terrific job everybody... Capt. Dan
Shorts, but Some Good Ones...
The Miller team joined me today and "oh my" did they ever catch some fish. Grouper of course was our target species and we caught a bunch. When I say a bunch, I truly believe we released over 50 grouper today. Most were on the short side, but all the team secured a grouper dinner with a fine keeper. We had a blast and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Offshore...
A fun day today and something a little different. I was scheduled to take long time friend and client Phil and his daughter Gina in my boat today, but the weather forecast was looking a little rough. So, my good friend Clay Shidler had a trip cancel, so we played it safe and was able to take Phil and Gina offshore in his big 42ft Freeman cat style boat. We had a great time with a fine limit of gags and a couple beauty hog fish. A really fun day and I thank you all... Capt. Dan
Cold, but Good...
I wasn't going to try today due to the extreme cold, but the wind forecast was down and after loosing so many days to weather lately - it was worth an effort. The ride was cold and I mean COLD. I ran out to 32ft of water and it was definitely worth the ride. Tim and Erika dropped down some nice pin fish and brought up some hefty gags, plus several shorts and grunts afterwards on shrimp. It turned out to be a good day and I thank you both... Capt. Dan
