Crystal River Fishing Charters & Homosassa Charters

A little change in the plans today. I originally had the Coleman family scheduled for a full day of grouper fishing, but due to the much welcomed cold front; we changed to an afternoon 1/2 day trip. The wind was gusting out of the North at a steady 15mph and leaving Pete's Pier at 1pm, we were welcomed to extreme low tide conditions. Targeting trout was our primary species and working the shallow kelp patches, the crew put 7 keeper sized trout in the cooler, while releasing several under slot throughout the afternoon.  Once again the DOA deadly combos in the holographic root beer shrimp and Mirrolure Lil' Johns got the job done. Just after 5pm, the tide was finally making high so we could try our luck at a red fish. With only enough time to stop on one point, we caught 4 red fish with one in the 24" range and the others falling short of the 18" mark. Today was our first taste of fall and it was an absolute beautiful evening on the Crystal River. Thank you all for the fun time and look forward to seeing again soon... Capt. Dan
