Tough Grouper...

Definitely not the best condition's today, but we sure got'em with the Novinger team on board. I had to get creative on the grouper drops on this trip, as it was quite gusty out of the North - ALL DAY... The wind never let up, so we jumped around and hit as many shallow places as I could. Well, the plan worked out nicely and the team secured a beautiful limit of hefty gags for the day. A great day and enjoy all the fine grouper dinners team... Capt. Dan

Windy, Chilly, Gags...

A cold, windy, chilly one today with the Gartman team on board, but we fished hard and found some fine gags. I was a bit worried with the choppy seas, but the couple was game and we pushed through it. I fished several rocks before the bite turned on, but when it did, it was great. Two of the fish were over 15lbs and some fine grouper dinner are on the way. I thank you both and Happy New Year... Capt. Dan

Choppy Grouper...

I hope everyone's Christmas was great as mine was and today, I was back on the big pond.... A bit choppy out there for us today when the wind swapped out of the NE, but the bite was on. On today's trip Larry, Dean and Jim joined me for their last trip of the 2017 grouper season and we did well. I ran offshore a bit to just under 30ft and sent down the baits. The team was ready and in a matter of minutes, we had 6 beautiful grouper on ice. I was actually shocked on how awesome the bite was and we also added a couple bonus hog fish to the mix as well. A really fun day and I'll see you guys after the first of the year... Capt. Dan

Christmas Eve Gags...

Merry Christmas Eve everyone and just a fun trip with my dear great friends Mishel and Earl. The husband and wife team love their grouper and once again that's what we did. The grouper bite was the best it has been all week today, and the big fish sure were fired up. We just hit a couple rock piles and in no time we all had smiles on our face. A truly great day and awesome job turning those big boys... Capt. Dan

South Gags...

I ran to the far South country today and Mishel, Earl and Jason turned some nice groupers. The fog was a huge issue for us, as it kept me from making the initial run South. We did pick up a couple keepers to the North, but when the fog cleared; I hammered down to the good stuff. The grouper turned on and for today, very little short grouper. Six fine gags came on board and great job team... Capt. Dan

The Sugarmill Gang..

It's been a while, but it sure was good to see Bill, Roland and Jim on board again. It was the guys annual December grouper trip and it was pretty similar to yesterdays trip on the grouper. Lots and lots of undersized gags again, but that's great to see too. We finally found some nice grouper dinners, plus Roland sight fished a beautiful triple tail that was under a piece of floating cardboard. Enjoy the goodies and I'll see you next month... Capt. Dan

Team Barlow...

Always a fun time with the Barlow family and today was a blast. Ron, Lisa and Nick were the team and we spent the day on the gags. The grouper action was good, but lots and lots of under size fish today. However, the keepers we caught were all "reel" hefty ones; with one in the 20lb range. Some fine fish for sure and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Round Two....

Round two with Dan, Lauren and Gary and the guys had quite the day for their last rip of the 2017 grouper season with me. We pushed through the fog again and headed offshore. The first drops were very good and had some fine keepers right away. I had to moved around a bit for the last two, but soon enough we found them. After a gags limit, we spent the afternoon catching a couple hog fish and releasing a few more grouper to wrap up the day. I thank you all for the fun trips we've had and I look forward to our upcoming 2018 year... Capt. Dan

"WOW"...

All I can say is "WOW"... What a day offshore with Jay, Harley and Gerald. The guys met me at the Plantation on Crystal River and we headed West. I stayed just inside the 30ft range, after riding through the foggy conditions; dropping down on some real nice bottom. We had some fine grouper action and on 3 stops, 6 gags made their way on ice. Now though, for the big surprise.... I set up on another little patch of live bottom and the hog fish bite was unreal. The team had 14 keeper hog fish on hook and line, with little grunt activity and I was truly in awe on the action. A day to remember and congratulations guys on the fantastic catch... Capt. Dan

Offshore Fun...

Another fun day with Dan, Lauren and Gary in grouper land. I took the gentlemen out to 32ft of water and we sent down some live baits. Well, the first couple drops were a bit slow, but it was mostly the stage of the tide for the lack of grouper interest. When the incoming tide slowed though, the bite was awesome. The team quickly secured a fine limit of gags and a super job guys... Capt. Dan
