    Silver King 16 Signature

A legendary skiff and "THE" tarpon skiff for fishing the Crystal River & Homosassa River area.

I have it custom rigged with dual 109 lb thrust 36 volt trolling motors, elevated casting platform and powered by the finest - a 115 Pro XS Mercury Optimax.

The Barlow team was with me today and Tim and Ron were the guys to get it going on. I met the father and son team at the Plantation on Crystal River and we headed to the ledges to troll up some gags. Well, the grouper bite was exceptionally good; as we trolled our way to a limit of grouper and Rapala plugs were the flavor of the day. After our grouper and the outgoing tide, we jigged up ten fine trout to top off the day. Congratulations fellas on a great day and enjoy all the fresh fish... Capt. Dan

Homosassa Gags and Trout....

Barbara and David were the team today from the Smith party and once again, we ran to grouper land. I took the husband & wife team plug casting and they did great. Some nice grouper came on board in just two stops and we then jigged up some trout in 7ft of water. I tied on some root-beer MirrO'lure Lil' Johns and the trout were concentrated on some rock piles. We trout fished for and hour and made it back inshore, for our afternoon shore lunch. Two great days and I thank you all... Capt. Dan

Rain Delay...

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving as we did, but we had late take off today due to the rain - it was much needed. I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club with fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captains, Mark Zorn, Jim Long, William Toney and Johnathan Hamilton. The guys and I had the pleasure of having the Smith party on board and Cr. Coco and his wife Nancy were with me for the afternoon. As we took off and reached the mouth of the Homosassa, I took the couple South and plug cast a really nice limit of gags. The grouper were biting well and a couple trout found their way on board too. A fun time and I'll see you all tomorrow... Capt. Dan

Happy Thanksgiving Grouper...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and today's team for Thanksgiving Eve, we did very well. Larry, Jim and John were my guests today and for their Crystal River charter, they got some fine grouper. I did a combination of trolling and bottom fishing and the boys turned some good ones. A couple of the fish were over 15lbs and put up quite a struggle. A beautiful day and fantastic job fellas... Nice Gags...

A really good time with the Worthington family as we trolled our way to some really nice gags. I met the family at 8am at the Plantation on Crystal River for some grouper trolling and we did just fine. I dragged some plugs over a variety of ledges and the gags were biting. Rapala x-rap 20's were the hot ticket. We fished to just afternoon, and beat the rain showers in. Aaron had the hot rod and here he is with big fish of the day... Capt. Dan

Dirty Front Gags...

On boy, it was a tough one out there today!!!! Dirty water, post cold front and low, low tide. However, Joe and Joanne were on board for their last trip of 2017 and with Joe's birthday on order; we made it happen. Grouper were on the menu and jumping around from 6ft to 20 ft - we got the gags. For this trip today, not one spot was better than the other, so we had to work for the fish we got. As a team we got them and some nice fish at that. I thank you both for everything and I look forward to our future trips... Capt. Dan

Offshore Gags...

We took the trek down south today and offshore to about 33ft of water with Marilyn and David on board. Calm seas were the conditions and with the approaching Sunday front, and upcoming gusty winds the next couple of days, it was a good choice. A nice easy day a with a bit of trolling and bottom fishing caught us our fish. Marilyn had big fish honors with an awesome grouper just under 20lbs. Great job team and we'll see you next time... Inside Grouper...

We did a bit of everything to catch the gags today with the Coleman team. Clell and Lee were on board for their monthly visit and we did well. The guys and I caught them from trolling, bottom fishing and casting plugs. All the methods produced about equally and as always a fun time with you both... Capt. Dan

Whopper Gags...

Probably the roughest day on the water that I've ever stuck it out, but it was worth it. Bob was on board solo with me for the day and we had our seat belts on for sure. We would take a wave or two over the bow every once in a while, however the big gags were on the feed. We trolled up a fine limit of grouper and two fish just under twenty pounds each, were quite impressive. Great catch my friend and what a week you had... Capt. Dan

Trout and Gags...

Another bumpy one out there for us today, especially for the morning hours; but it eventually calmed down. Steve and Doug were my guests today and as the wind gust out of the NE, we stayed inside and jigged up some nice trout. I loaded the guys with MirrOlure Lil' Johns and the trout bite was quite good. We kept just a couple, released the others and added a couple grouper to finish out the day. A big swing in the weather today and I thank you both for hanging in there... Capt. Dan
