Crystal River Mix.....

An absolute awesome day with Scott and Johnny and the father and son team did great. The inshore trout action started our trip and using DOA jerk baits around the bars got our day going. We caught several fine keepers, a bonus flounder and we then headed offshore. The offshore action was fabulous with grouper, grunts, and trigger fish, but the sheepshead were not to happy. However, Scott picked up a fine triple tail and turned some hefty gags on light tackle for an exciting afternoon. A great day guys and I can't wait until next time... Capt. Dan

Crystal River Awesome Day...

Today was the day folks and Phil hit it out of the park. The tides were right, the wind was right and the bite was on. We began in the shallows jerk baiting some trout and the DOA glow jerk baits worked outstanding for us. We landed a fine trout limit and next, surprisingly - we also used the jerk baits for a pair of upper slot red fish in hopes of finding a snook. No snook today, but a welcomed red fish catch for sure. To end the trip, another quick run for some sheepshead and Phil ended his vacation with a bang. I always enjoy our trips and thank you as always for everything... Capt. Dan

Better Weather...

Still pretty rough out there for us today for the majority of the day, but the conditions improved greatly late in the day. Phil was with me for day three and it was another hard earned trout limit for the windy conditions. We tucked behind some islands and found some trout using Lil' Johns once again. The good news was, the forecast was right; and about 2pm the winds calmed enough for a little ride offshore. A couple drops on a inside sheepshead spot produced for us and it made for a great day... More Wind and Trout...

It was howling again out of the East and man, it's rough. I had the Phil's on board again for day two and despite barley being able to stand up in the boat, we still had a good day. Today was a mirror image as yesterday trip and the trout were once again our target. I actually had to anchor on each spot to fish it and work the area thoroughly; but we hung in there and did well. I'm hoping for better conditions tomorrow and great job guys... Capt. Dan

Trout in the Insane Wind...

Just about as tough as it gets again folks with the hard NE wind that's upon us and "NO" water at all. I try not to disappoint if there's a chance to make it happen, and Phil and Phil jr. are in town from Pennsylvania. I told the guys it's going to be a trout day and we sure delivered. Casting Lil John's along the bars were the ticket for us and the team did very well. A fine limit of trout came on board and the day was made. The condition's didn't allow for much else to do, but we had fun all the same. I'll see you tomorrow.. Capt. Dan

Pre- Front Perfection...

Talk about a hot bite!!! Today with Pat, Chase and Bob on board; these gentlemen may have experienced some of the hottest inshore trout action anyone could hope for. The team and I fished the shallow hard bottom areas around the mouth of Ozello and we had close to two hours of non-stop action. DOA jerk baits were the ticket and it was a special day. The guys had fine limit of trout and I was fortunate enough have enough tide for a quick red fish stop and we did well. An outstanding day and this one's going to be a tough one to beat... Capt. Dan

Always a fun day with the Kennedy team and Mike, Brian and Mike had a ball. The day began on a run to the sheepshead grounds as we anchored up, and did well. I moved around to a couple of spots and the team boated some tasty sheepshead, plus releasing numerous gag grouper. Around noon, we secured a fine catch of sheepshead; so we ran back inshore and jerk baited some real quality trout in the shallow water of the keys. In just over an hour, we had a limit of trout and we headed back to the Plantation on Crystal River to call it a day. Thank you guys and I look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

A fine day on the trout flats as we targeted them using a variety of techniques and we gave the sheepshead a break today. Lauren, Bob and Gary were the team and the guys did very well. Jerk baits, jigs and cork rigs all produced equally well and it was fun to do a little mix. The wind was up out of the SE this morning and the tide was extremely "LOW". Eventually though, the wind relaxed and the tide came in nicely and we had great day. Thank you gentlemen and I always look forward to next time... Capt. Dan

Saturday Trout & Reds...

Kind of a hint of Spring for us out on the big pond and it sure was a pretty day. David and Brian joined me today on a group trip out of the Plantation on Crystal River with fellow Homosassa Guides Association Captain's William Toney, Mark Zorn and Rick Spratt. The whole team did a fine job with fine catches of trout and a few red fish. A couple blue fish and Spanish mackerel were also caught, which is a slight hint spring is on the way. Great job team and anglers... Capt. Dan

Trout & Sheep's...

A very pleasant day for us out of Crystal River and Steve and Chris had a fun one. The guys had a blast this morning both jigging and jerk baiting, some fine inshore trout. We kept our angler limit of 10 fish and we wrapped up our day dropping down on some sheepshead, to add to the mix. A beautiful day and I'm sure glad the wind backed off for us... Capt. Dan
