What a fun 1/2 day charter out of Crystal River today. I met Paul, Lynn and Dick and the Plantation Inn and the group just wanted to catch some fish. To keep it simple and since they couldn't take fish back on the plane, we anchored and chummed up the Spanish mackerel. The macks didn't disappoint us and we caught plenty throughout the morning. A few silver and speckled trout were added to the mix and free lined live shrimp was the bait of choice. All the fish were released to fight another day and here is Dick with the first mack on the morning. Great job everybody and hope to see you next time your in Florida... Capt. Dan
It was day two at the Homosassa Fishing Club for the annual Jaboree. The Smith family was on board today and we began by thinning out the lady fish population. Lady fish after lady fish found their way onto the end of our DOA deadly combos for the first part of the day. At noon, we took a break and pulled up to the island and prepared our famous Homosassa shore lunch. With our belly's full and the tide was making high the trout bite was on. Carter and Laura caught some beautiful trout and ended the day with a beautiful catch. Thanks for a fun couple days and look forward to seeing you all again soon... Capt. Dan
After a couple days of high winds and heavy rain, it was good to be back on the water. I was at the Homosassa Fishing Club today, with fellow Homosassa Guides Association members Mark Zorn, William Toney, Rick Spratt and Charlie Harris for the annual Jaboree. The Jaboree consists of husband and wife teams and I had the West family on board today. The trout bite was a little slow for the first part of the morning, but once the tide made up it's mind and came in, the trout turned on. Our big surprise today was hooking into a large black drum that gave our light tackle a great work out. A beautiful day on the water and I thank you both for a fun day. Here is Tom with the big drum... Capt. Dan
It's getting busy offshore and more and more different species are beginning to be caught. I had Kevin, Gretchen, Richard and Josh on board out of Pete's Pier today and we caught some beautiful offshore trout. The action was steady all day and having a mixture of flounder, trout, sea bass, ladyfish, mackerel and cobia was our bag of surprises. Using a combination of DOA and gulp shrimp were today's baits of choice. We didn't have a tide for redfishing, so we stuck to the trout and had a great catch to show for it. Thank you all for a fun time and look forward to seeing you again... Capt. Dan
